Is 7 HP Enough? Prius aAWD System In The Snow

The 40 lb-ft of torque from the Prius's rear electric motor is the key to the extra traction in the Prius eAWD. That doesn't make it an off-road Prius, but it does make it far more attractive for folks living in the snow belt

This is great for someone living in a city like Montreal where you can live with only FWD and good snow tires but having the extra AWD kick will just make those snowstorms a bit more bearable with a minimal penalty on the gas mileage.

Nothing in this video actually shows that any torque is being applied to the rear, Alex. At no point do you see rear wheels spinning, rotating through a slip.
