hochhaul: I think the 2020 Ram looks like total shit. Ram destroyed any character their HD trucks had when they removed the crosshair grille. And why is it a surprise that GM is sticking with the 6L90 in their HD trucks. They have always been cautious on putting new unproven tech in their HD trucks. The Ford 10-speed has issues that need to be addressed before it would be ready for upgrading for an HD and offering in GMs HD lineup. The 6L90 is fully proven, reliable, and does matter since HD trucks are not counted against CAFE averages. Theres ZERO reason to throw an untested light duty transmission into an HD truck this early on. ALSO. Your the statement where you lead into the discussion of 10-speed transmissions is misleading to say the least. The Allison 10-speed theyre using behind the Duramax is NOT the same 10-speed Ford is using. Its a distinctly different 10-speed not related to the 10R90.

Alex. Some thoughts. You said the GM 10 Speed being used with the Duramax diesel, which was developed with Allison, but being produced by GM is also going into the Ford F250/350. Please provide a source, since I do not believe this is accurate. The Ford 10 speed for the class 1 trucks is the one developed in conjunction with GM. The Ford 10 speed for the class 2, 3, 4 is a totally different 10 speed for HD applications. But, If you know otherwise, please provide a source. Also, you said the GM products were completely knew and the Ram HD and Superduty were more a refresh. The exception I would have to say is that the GM interiors are carry overs, nothing new or exceptional, a few tweaks here and there. The steering wheel is straight now, for instance.

I like the looks of the GMC better but I do think the Chevy looks cool and happy to see a completely different design from the rest. I also like that they have many models to choose from now and think the classic even though a lower level looks to be better looking than the high end ones due to the fact the bumpers and grill are painted the color of the bodies. Their wheel styles are even much better and look really good with the whole package. I would buy a GM truck today if I were looking. I really think its going to be harder to make a choice across the lines on what truck to pick for many. They all have great looks and performance options now These wars are great for the consumer.

Okay the issue with the front of both GM trucks is that they bulked them up so much that they are murdering visibility and fuel economy. I get they dont need to report MPG on HDs, but its getting a little insane how much these guzzle, and making the front bulkier just makes it that much more of a brick to push through the air, at least the other trucks are more aerodynamic. Also like I said, you have bad visibility over the hood. I bet there will be short cars you wont even be able to see over the hood which can be a danger to others. Front collision sensors would be a necessity.

Dear Friends This is a very important message. Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the companys management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.

I like both the GMC and Chevy. The GMC is more my style. The Chevy has an amazing amount of heritage details from the 65 Chevy C-10 pickup in the front end design of the grille, headlights, and turn signal locations. And the rear 3/4 view of the front fender has a similar heritage contour to the 65 -10. The 65 C-10 is my least favorite Chevy pickup, but I like the bold ugly of the new truck as an HD.

The Sierra has a much better look compared to the Silverado. Interior upgrades are necessary for anyone to maintain competition against Ram. Not sure what fairy dust they sprinkled on the Silverado to make it a tow ratings monster this year. Havent been competitive in that category for some time.

Alex, can you confirm the 10speed HD transmission is co-developed by Ford and GM? I have heard the 1/2 ton 10 speeds were shared development from many sources, but you are the only source to say the hds were. Love your videos keep up the good work. Jeff

I think it is the best looking truck in its class by far Just like the New 1500 Silverados when people were saying the same thing. now people are saying they really like the New design of the Silverado. It will definitely look better in person.

Part of me rather likes the distinctiveness of the front. Part of me thinks its fugly. The dash is a straight up vomit inducing. It looks SO CHEAP. I think they got their inspiration from Tonka Trucks and got Playskool to pen the design.
