Don't get me wrong, the Touareg was a great vehicle, it's just that America wasn't really interested in an expensive off-road focused luxury SUV with an Audi price tag and a VW logo. The answer to that comes as a one-two punch for North America: the Atlas and the Atlas Cross Sport, VW's big, boxy, value focused crossovers.
Damilola: I don't think this is a direct successor to the Touareg, it looks shorter and more aggressive than that, this is FWD based, not RWD based like the Touareg. Also, that was body on frame, as opposed to the atlas, and had engine options ranging from a gasoline V6 to a diesel V10. Date: 2020-02-28
