Well I think of it like this for how I judge the greatness of a truck, and I realize not everyone thinks this way, so just to be clear Im not trying to start a flame war. At the end of the day, pickup trucks are work vehicles. While I do concede that as a luxury item, the Ram far surpasses Ford, Nissan, Toyota and Chevy/GMC, in terms of the ultimate work machine and if you bought the truck based on nothing but numbers, youd have to go with the F150. Thats the ultimate 1/2 ton pickup. It has the most torque, payload, towing, safety rating and EPA fuel mileage. In terms of durability (engine wise, not so with everything else on it) youd have to go with the Ram. And as for Chevy, well their saving grace is the amazing price they offer on fleet vehicles.

Are you sure about the 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie E-torque with air suspension having the cylinder deactivation feature? I really like my new 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie both inside and out, except Im so pissed off the dealer salesman didnt recommend getting the larger 33 gallon fuel tank. Like who in their right mind wouldnt want a larger fuel tank. Also Ram shouldnt be so cheap and charge extra for the rear bumper step and it should be on both sides. I think the engine block heater for 95 bucks is worthwhile expense too, especially if you ever plan on going up north. Thank God I dont have those idiotic belt buckles on my seat back envelope things that you said look like a purse. They look horrible

Absolutely a beautiful truck, both the interior and exterior. But, stop/start and MDS technology are things that I just do not want. Was checking local Ram dealer sites a few days ago, and one of them had a whole bunch of used Rams available that were labeled buyback. The CarFax report for each vehicle indicated the dealership had purchased them at auction. Seeing ANY buyback vehicles on the market gives me cause to wonder what the heck is going on with Ram. For the kind of bucks theyre getting for pickups nowadays, I want bullet proof. And that from the proud owner of a 2016 Dodge Challenger with the Pentastar V6 and 40, 000 trouble free miles on the odometer.

Alex. Thank you again for a great review. One thing I believe you discount in your half ton analysis is the excellence of the updated 2018-present 5. 0 in the Ford. Now paired with the 10 speed with more power and port injection, its as good or better than the 5. 7 hemi and much better than the 5. 3 GM. Its also available in every trim except the F150 limited, and its the base engine in the King Ranch and Platinum. I know the 3. 5 and 2. 7 have the volume but Id love to see you review the new 5. 0. A whole series on the big 3 with a variety of engines and trims I think would all get a ton of views. (Volume models like the Big Horn, XLT or LT/SLE trims.

First off. I dont haul or tow. Test drove Silverado LTZ 6. 2l, Toyota Tundra limited, Nissan titan limited, ram 1500 limited, f150 lariat 5. 0 and 2. 7 EB. The new Ram by far has the best interior. Its light year ahead of everyone else. After saying that. I bought the F150 lariat with the 2. 7 EB. Its the best overall values for me and I love how the 2. 7 EB drive. I would buy the ram if they had the rebel there but due to slow production early in of the model year. Also I would never buy a ram with the air suspension due to poor reliability issue especially in cold weather.

u see ram grown on u people because ram dont change the style if u put all ram side by side the body is the same all thats chance in the front face, and ford also, now if u put a Chevy next to every year that cames out, there is ALWAYS something different every year, Chevy is not afraid to make change, as always, ram interior dont change all they do add that simple big screen, i bet its not durable like the Silverado and fords interior when u put it to the test of durability

Exterior wise, the GM twins and F-150 look better IMO, but this mops the floor with those interior wise. Being that its an FCA product, reliability (If there is even) is a factor to do research on before buying these. Not that any of the domestics are known for dependability but Ram has always hid in the shadows compared to GM and Ford in that aspect. If Id get one, Id probably step up to the HD with the Cummins.

The f150 will allways be the best choice and Chevy next. Sorry fiat is just very low quality. The interior is awesome on the fiat but do people really care? Its all about the capability and the fiat lacks in payload and towing compared to the Ford. Air ride is not dependable in cold weather. The Chevy is a better truck as far as capability. Ford is 4 years into their rebuild and it still is a better truck.

Im not sure abut the styling, I think my 2015 Ram looks better, but I love the new interior and the improved payload. Im curious to see if the Etorque actually improves the fuel mileage over my truck. I am not impressed with the prices on the new trucks though, so I think Ill be keeping my current truck. Mind you once they make a hybrid I may have a look because around town the Hemi sucks back the gas; )

0-60 in 6. 8, or the mid-6s, is pretty slow, the slowest in this redesigned class. Its as slow as a Tundra, and the Tundra is getting redesigned for next year, so this will be the slowest truckI love the interior. It may be soft like girl outside, but its softer side inside is very lux. And love the big roof, the one that GM wouldnt put in their new truck due to cost-cutting.
