So we bought a 2019 Tesla Model 3 with just one option: the blue paint. That means that we actually have the 35, 000 Model 3 in our hot little hands. Well, OK, a 36, 000 Model 3. There are a few surprises with the base model that well talk about here but stay tuned because the full review is coming NEXT WEEK Full disclosure: We bought the car, this isn a viewers car. Also, we are not planning on keeping it, we will have it for a 1-3 months and then list it for sale, so if you want it. Let us know

DUDE, your an idiot Tesla stopped making The Stripped Standard Model, so if you call to order The Standard Model (Tesla removed The Standard Model from their website, Tesla currently just gives you a range limited (by software) Standard Plus Model. Tesla doesnt want to sell The Standard Model to anyone right now for many reasons. Tesla needs as much profit out of each car they sell right now to raise much needed Capital. Tesla is an EXCELLENT HIGH TECH COMPANY that makes many products, sells many things, is competing in many product niches & industries & Tesla is not afraid to try new things, adapt, & change. One Tesla Product Suite, with several Spaces of Competition for Tesla is the manufacturing of a variety of Electric Vehicles. The Current Tesla product line is limited to their Original Model S & X which are both built on the same platform. Also The Model 3 & Y are built on the same platform, even though The Model Y is not available yet, Model Y will have over 4x the cargo space of The Model 3. The Model Y will outsell all other Tesla EVs combined & will be their best product build to date once it is released. One last clarification -YOUR AN IDIOT BECAUSE U DID NOT ORDER AUTO-PILOT & FULL SELF DRIVING AUTONOMOUS CAPABILITIES-Tesla has 99% of the worlds detailed road data collected since least 2015, it started in 2014, from all Tesla Vehicles which comprises multiple tens of millions of miles driven & corresponding road data that enabled Tesla to finish the build of the Tesla Robo-Taxi Neural Network based on Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning. Tesla has actually finished their Neural Network, it is completed They have also finished the build of their proprietary replacement for the current Nvidia Chip Set Unit & it is a 5 minute straight SWAP OUT THE NVIDIA & INSTALL THE TESLA PROPRIETARY UNIT. Tesla is making final software changes & refinements which will be released to all Teslas via OTA (Over The Air) updates. The Tesla Robo-Taxi Service will be about 1 per mile vs. Uber which charges about 2 per mile. Both LYFT then UBER had their IPOs over the last 30 days. They will be financially forced to partner with Google (Waymo) in order to stay alive as ALL TESLA EVs built since least 2015 will be able to join the Fully Autonomous TESLA ROBO-TAXI RIDESHARE SERVICE by the end of 2019 about 8 months from now. -Obviously Tesla will be facing massive opposition not seen since The Legacy American Car Manufacturing Oligopoly in Detroit regulated & purposefully TARGETED & DESTROYED THE TUCKER CAR MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN THE MID 20TH CENTURY. Watch The Movie starring Jeff Bridges, Tucker, The Man & His Dream. -Lobbyists bought & paid for by the entirety of several different industries & Political Regulatory Agencies will STALL Tesla (Thanks to the Lobbyist who will legally influence key Regulatory Decision Makers & entire Agencies) from key & necessary regulatory approvals & even though technically speaking, The Tesla Robo-Taxi Fully Autonomous Rideshare Service will be fully ready, operational, least twice as safe as a human driving a vehicle, etc. Because The Tesla Motor Company will be the 1st Vehicle Manufacturer to successfully reach this goal - Tesla will be stalled, limited, & regulated to death if possible. Many powerful entities want to kill Tesla so they can buy Tesla.

Ironic about that FCA delivery length. theyve been getting dinged HARD in JD Power surveys for not pairing phones, setting home address in Uconnect navigation, explain why the car beeps at them while driving (blind spot/cross traffic) etc, so they hammer the dealerships hard to make them do a better delivery. Which I think is the right thing to do, lotta folks out there think Bluetooth is a periodontal issue, blind spot monitoring is what their optometrist does, and cross traffic alert is what those old folks in the day-glo vests and stop signs do when school is let out. Hell, people come back to the dealership and give bad surveys (for having to come back) because they couldnt find their gas caps on a capless car, said fact not pointed out to them at delivery. What they really need to speed up is the transition from Ill buy it to getting out of the finance office, and a smart dealership should take that (long) delay between agreeing and signing to have the sales staff do the delivery walkthrough.

I have a Model 3 long range all wheel drive and it is by far the best vehicle I have ever driven It And yes I too woke up to it being even better, faster and smarter once again last week It is several levels of magnitude better than any other car i have ever been in. It has exceeded my expectations and even surprised me on several fronts. For example I had a false belief that it might be inconvenient to charge a car instead of stopping and getting gas at a convenience store. It is the opposite. Its so easy, saves me time, keeps me from spilling stinking, toxic gasoline on my clothes and hands and I am taking money away from an industry that is pushing its costs off on the health care industry. I installed a solar array before I purchased the car and also installed a 240 volt outlet. It is so much easier and literally takes 5 seconds for 98 percent of my charges. The super charging network is also very good and the V3 super charger is going to once again change everything foreverI

I understand your concern about the glass roof, and OK you are in Cali. Driving my my M3M, it has never been a problem. The shading is dark, but also super heat reflective and UV shielding. I predict you will be happily surprised as the spring moves to summer. Although I do love the idea of liquid crystal darkening windows (all, after all how am I going to get my siesta on road trips if I cannot darken the windows. :-) eye shades I guessI also predict you will upgrade to STD+, for the AP, and it is so worth it. But nice to see these cars (price point) are coming out. My biggest reasons to upgrade from base to premium interior were: Glass roof - check, Power seats - check, Fog / driving lights - check, Stereo - NOPE missing the back deck speakers and sub. sad trombone. ah well I got a mid range with everything. They are fantastic. Congratulations you will love it. you are literally driving the future.

Its futuristic and gadget-filled, but for 35k, Id expect better interior quality. heck, better overall build quality. Thats one of Teslas major drawbacks. Like most luxury branded cars, however, its more about image than actual quality. Luxury buyers typically lease short term or buy a new car more frequently anyway. Theyre not really looking for substance. Its more of a Hey, look at me Arent you impressed? mentality. With that said, its a neat car. Im not sure its worth the 35k price tag when you consider what kinds of traditional gas powered vehicles you can get for 35k, but its neat nonetheless. Among electric vehicles, its definitely the it electric car for the money. A Nissan Leaf is probably going to be better built and more reliable long-term, but Nissan doesnt have the same appeal as a Tesla.

I disagree with your assessment of the range. Your charging screen shows the current SOC to be 60% (it lines up exactly with the 60% line after you press Set Limit, and 145 miles. 145 is almost exactly 60% of 240, which is the range of the SR+ cars. A friend of mine just picked up his SR Model 3, and hes also seeing the full 240 mile range. When it comes to the glass roof, Ive owned my 3 for over a year, and Ive never had anyone complain about the roof. Whatever Tesla has done to treat the glass is very, very effective. Finally, you mention the rear quarter glass break-ins, but make no mention of Sentry Mode, which is a very unique and effective feature that combats this.

Liked the video, but make sure your talking points contain full details. Im referring particularly to your comments about the design flaw of the back seats been folded down. Tesla has since addressed the issue in a very satisfactory way: Sentry Mode. Sentry Mode, standard on on all available models and trims, allows the car to video surveillance itself using the Autopilot cameras. This not only address issues with theft, but also hit and runs, keying, door dings, and so much more. I am a Model 3 owner and I have no worries about break ins.

Ive had my LR RWD Model 3 for 10 months and cannot think of a time when I needed more than 220 miles of range while road tripping. Its not like you are just getting by with 220 miles of range. You just dont need it - not when Tesla Superchargers are located every 50-100 miles. Why pay for more battery than you need? You got a great car for a lot less then you could have paid Well done

EVs just arent ready. The cost of ownership of Tesla is too high. From super expensive insurance, to super expensive parts. Good luck finding an authorized repair shop in most parts of the country, within 100 miles. Collision work. Same deal. Until these issues are addressed this company will continue to dance on the edge of a razor. You have to have mass adoption to survive.
