Old stodgy boring massive. But looks comfy. But Ford is eating GMs lunch in trucks and SUVs especially Navigator. This thing you are showing looks like a Hearse. Hauling around around in a 100k Hearse is not my idea of modern luxury. GM is still behind if they introduce the Escalade based on the new Silverado which itself did not go far enough. Another yawn. RAM is a great Luxury Truck, and Navigator is outstanding for luxury SUV of modern, substance. If the Tall Man from Phantasm was still alive and another Phantasm movie was made this Hearse would rock the vote. This vehicle is dead to me. Lincoln and Ford just did it right. Chinzy interior bits, seats that cant compete with Navigator. Cadillac moving to New York is no help. Making crazy good V series cars were fun. Imagine a fast V series SUV to go against SRT and Ford makes a Shelby Corsair, and even Navigator with say 600HP Luxury is performance too. We can do it, and people will pay for it.

The entire limo (livery) service has moved over to the Escalade and its cousin the Chevrolet Suburban. If you go to New York City you will not see any traditional limousines anymore. Its all Suburbans, Escalades, and a few GMC Yukon XLs. The GM big SUVs dominate the field because they are rock-solid reliable and designed well. GM has something like 75% of the big SUV market. Regarding the ride quality, the reason for the not-so-plush ride is that GM uses a solid rear axle in back which is able to take the constant pounding these vehicle get, especially in places like New York City. However, I suspect the next generation of the Escalade might change over to independent rear suspension to keep up with the new Lincoln Navigator.

Heres what I dont get about a vehicle like the Escalade: With all of the available trim levels and options, why in the Hell cant they offer a brake package upgrade to give this beast some serious stopping power; something in the 110 ft. range? At this price point, I dont see how a five or six thousand dollar Brembo package would be out of line. Im not talking about ceramic discs or track packages; just some four (or six) piston calipers and some larger, premium quality discs and pads. A 20 ft reduction in stopping distance is a really big deal, especially when youre spending close to 100, 000 for a luxo-boat like this.

Very sad for the Navigator when the interior material quality is not higher than a 6 to 5 year old vehicle. not to mention it basically gets best fuel economy in class and its just as fast as the Navigator with far less power. I can see everyone crying in the comment section all triggered that despite being so old in the luxury segment Escalade is still one of the best. The Escalade is literally in its final year and companies like Lincoln and infinity still are having a hard time competing.

Ive been going German the past few cars, but Ive always like Cadillac. I would love to see them get back to their former glory when they defined luxury. Dont know if theyll ever get there, but this isnt a bad attempt. I dont think Ill ever buy anything in this segment and I couldnt imagine driving something this large in the city, but looks like a nice exurban vehicle.

Another great video like usual Alex Although I must say if you can afford the navigator or the Escalade I dont think youre going to get the vehicle that you dont really want just to save 10, 000. On another note ive been wondering for a few videos now what is that black thing on the wall over your left shoulder it looks like a giant toilet bowl tank float? LOL

Great review. For me - even though it is at the end of its life - I would take the Escalade. I actually prefer the interior styling over the garish Navigator. I cant wait to see what the next generation looks like. With the new Independent rear suspension and the expected Blackwing in the platinum model - it will be the one to beat in its class.

I would take the Escalade over the Navigator any day of the week. I know someone who has personally owned both of the vehicles & the older models as well. The new Navigator was great but after 2 years of wear and tear the speaker grills have came lose the leather is aging alarmingly fast and its honestly not any better on fuel.

GMC has no ingenuity and offers nothing unique in their models. Each models is a mash of other parts from other cars with the same engine choices. They put no detail into any of their cars and dont have the quality or reputation to keep dated interiors or exteriors like relaible bulletproof cars like Toyota, Honda, Subaru, etc.

Sooo basically the Escalade has gained features that my 2003 Navigator has powerfold seats? Still no IRS so when the next generation releases with IRS are we going to applaud the Escalade for playing catch-up or being modern in a modern world? Many of the features this Escalade has the Expedition / Navigator has had since 2003.
