Greg G: I would say its not quite a traditional hybrid due to it being able to go one mile on pure electric before combustion engine kicks in if you are driving conservatively enough. Plus it looks better than what we have traditionally thought a hybrid to be too. It looks GREAT in fact and I think it will sell well for them, quite possibly selling one to me as well I cant wait to see one and test drive one in person. The lack of lumbar support is a bit of a bummer, and I also dont know why the infotainment unit only has the volume knob and not both volume and seek like the accord as both these things couldnt cost all that much to add I dont think. I get that cost have to be cut somewhere, but on knobs? Really? How much could that save? But overall I really like what I see.

I think the Insight could easily have been marketed as the Civic Hybrid and might have better sales numbers if they did rather than slapping the multi-failure Insight name on it. I also believe Honda should have made this a hatchback/lift back rather than a sedan because that would have offered up more cargo capacity. As for the seats, I think most car seats these days are getting carried away with their lumbar support since the manufacturers cant put it in the right place for everybody. Where I need it as 6ft is very different than a person 5ft 2 which seems to be the target height Honda uses and not even close for a person 6ft 5 which isnt an uncommon height these days.

Not bad, but not really a fan of the sedan-trying-to-look-like-a-hatchback styling towards the rear. Makes the car look weird, fat & bloated from certain angles. The factory alloy wheels also look like low-rent hubcaps, lol. Tail-lights look nice & the front styling is good, however. I dont really trust modern Honda/Acura quality/craftsmanship an longer, after many many years of driving them from the 1980s to 2010 - but if I was going to get one, this is the one I would go for. The latest Civic, Fit, & Accord look horrible, and the HR-V for the U. S. market looks cut-rate & cheap as hell compared to ones in other global markets.

I really like the looks of the Insight and it includes the Lane Watch camera on the front passenger mirror. I have it in my 2015 Accord. I prefer it over the Blind Spot Detection monitoring. By the way, I test drove 2018 Accord EXL and Touring with the 1. 5T. Got to say I was not impressed. The EXL actually drove better with the 17 in wheels. More importantly, I thought my 2015 Accord EXL was more upscale and drove just as well. I hope the Insight is a hit and cant wait to give it a test drive when it goes on sale.

Thanks for asking about lumbar support: My back must be very different from the average because, although I appreciate lumbar support in, say, my desk chair, the systems I find in most cars hit my back in exactly the wrong place - either too high (pressing into my lower mid-back) or too low (pressing against my coccyx. Im usually most comfortable while driving if I simply sit up straight and dont slouch. That said, I found Hondas seats in the Insight and Clarity to be quite comfortable.

I think your drawing attention to the lack of adjustable lumbar support in every single review is annoying. Ok, its missing, not a big deal. Ask 100 random people to get in the car and tell you what they think, I bet almost none will bemoan the lack of lumbar support. Im actually much happier to see that the infotainment actually has a physical volume control and a few buttons, compared to the current Civic. You asked: )

Looks great I currently own a 2007 Toyota Prius, and will look for a replacement this year. I like the idea of more power even if it means giving up some fuel economy. We often drive at higher altitudes (7000 - 11000 ft) and having a hybrid with more power is a plus. I do agree with you on the lumbar support, but it is not a show stopper for us.

I think u may have rushed this review a little, but thanks none the less. I like the lumbar support, but u can get a attachable lumbar pillow at dollarama thatll do just fine. I kno ppl are shakin their head at me now, but I don care, its not a deal breaker for me. Super glad they brought the side view camera though

I dont like using a lumbar support. It actually hurts my back. Im hoping this hybrid will actually be a good one as Hondas hybrids dont get the fuel mpgs that they claim to get. Honda shouldve created a new electric motor instead of holding on to the second generation electric motor. BTW, zip up your pants.

I wanna know why they keep taking lumbar support out of hybrids. How much does this peice of plastic inside the seat weigh? is it a 50 pound addon? does it cost so much to put into the one seat? Cause i know they do cost cutting to compensate for the hybrid systems. im serious, i wanna know.
