My wife has almost 5k on her 2022 CX-5 Turbo Premium Plus. She loves this car it is quick, smooth and comfortable. She has no problem with the Mazda Scroll Wheel and she is getting over 30 MPG on regular fuel. We tried running it with non ethanol premium and there was no improvement in MPG or perceived acceleration so back to the cheap stuff. The center armrest is very cush and feels great on your elbow and so does the driver armrest (these are super important in a vehicle) It is super quiet and accelerates effortlessly even with the 6 speed trans. I feel it is a bit quicker than my 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy with a DCT and 280 HP. The only thing the car is missing is ventilated seats, power passenger seat and wireless android auto. It is expensive for 35k but compared to the 2022 RDX A Spec Advance we almost pulled the trigger on it is a bargain! The RDX has that shit touch pad and an overly complicated button array. It also gets 22mpg on premium and according to the forums there are problems with back windows exploding, creaking sunroofs and many other things. The CX30 has an elegant simplicity and rides like a much bigger vehicle. If you can find one I highly recommend it

Great review, Brian. Glad you pointed out the intrusive A-pillar blind spot. That's an annoying issue some vehicles have. I like the premium vibe of the CX30, but there's not much else for me to like. The styling is way too soft and looks like a lifted 3 hatchback with grotesquely oversized unpainted cladding. The infotainment system design is poor. Screen is too small, too far away, and controlled exclusively by a knob. No thanks. The rear seat is far too cramped. I've read online from owners that the interior in this vehicle rattles and the painted finish on the switchgear delaminates. For the money, I'd rather have something less premium, but more durable and more functional, like a Kia Seltos, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, or Toyota Corolla Cross.

NO ONE ever mentions how SMALL the windows are. They are barely bigger than your head. Gives the Camaro a run for its money.
The body cladding hides how tall the belt line is and makes the door look smaller than it really is.
The windows are actually SMALLER than the Mazda 3. I own a Mazda 3 and sat inside the CX-30 and it was the first thing I noticed.
Look at the driving section just imagine the uncomfortable position you would need to rest your elbow on the door. You can't

It s noticeably clunky if you re used to a CVT or an automatic with more gears and embarrassingly bad on fuel. With prices of fuel as they are, I m surprised Mazda hasn t at least offered the manual from the 3 on this. Will this sell better than the Corolla Cross or the new HR-V? I doubt it. Will it sell enough to kill off the 3 hatch? Likely.

I almost bought this color, instead I went with a black one and it looks sharp, the turbo engine is amazing, in the city i'm averaving 9. 6l/100km, there's only a couple of things I don't like about it, first is the heated steering wheel, it doesn't heat up the whole steering wheel unlike my wifes honda pilot, second the steering might be too heavy in my opinion, especially after 12 hours of work. All in all my favorite car in its segment.

I've own this model (mid range) for nearly two years, beautiful vehicle to drive. I have the standard 2. 5L, great fuel economy. I'm 5 11 and sit behind myself with no problem. I find it a more comfortable with the drivers seat not all the way back on it's track. The non-touch infotainment is great, but takes a bit of getting used too. I also like the plastic cladding on it, nice contrast to my white colour.

Maybe in your otherwise very good reviews you could give legroom dimensions, for front and rear, with front seats adjusted all the way forward and all the way rearward. Different makers measure legroom differently and total front/rear legroom dimensions are pretty meaningless. For buyers it is far more meaningful and instructional to provide real world measurements for each row.

I think I would buy this over the competition since I consider this a subcompact SUV due to the small interior. It s nicer to drive than basically every competitor and should be one of the most reliable. The 6 speed shouldn t be too much of a problem with the turbo engine, but it is annoying with the naturally aspirated 2. 5. I d definitely buy a Mazda 3 or CX-5 first though.
