2023 Honda Accord First Look Andy: As the current owner of a '20 Honda Accord Touring 2. 0T, I have eagerly been awaiting the redesign of the Accord. I could not be more disappointed in finding out that the 2. 0T engine option has been dropped. I am not interested in a slower model. In fact, I was hoping for an even faster model Accord than what I currently have. I have been a lifetime Honda/Acura fan and owner. I have owned 8 Acuras and 10 Hondas. For the first time in my life, I'm not certain that either make will be my next car, which is incredibly disappointing to me. I had a '16 Acura TLX Advance that I replaced with my Accord Touring. Would have purchased a newer TLX but was disappointed that the 2. 0T model was considerably less roomy and slower than the Accord 2. 0T. The TLX Type S is nice but does nothing to fix the issue of roominess and gets horrendous gas mileage. I am seriously ticked off that Honda/Acura seems to be abandoning me and my wish list. What are they thinking?

I noticed in the 12 display that there was 553 miles of range and the fule tank was not 100% full. I fully realize that this particular vehicle may have an unrealistic current avg mpg that is driving that range number - but I DO hope Honda will give the new Accord some additional highway range. It seems Hondas always has a small fuel tank. Can't wait to see what the real world 75mph highway mpg is.

Wow, Alex looks great except for dropping the 2. 0T. I've owned a 1998 Accord EX-V6, 2003 Accord EX-L V6 and currently drive a 2016 Accord EX-L V6. I really like what you've shown us in this preview. In any case, I like a little go power and may have to forego the new Accord this time around and find something with a little more oomph under the hood.

Good lord the Accord trunk is cavernous now. It s a major shame the Accord isn t being offered with a 2. 0T though.
It s also a little baffling there isn t a higher output hybrid trim considering the segment of high HP vehicles the Accord is battling in. Apart from. maybe the crown though, I think the Accord takes the cake in interior space.

Sorry Honda, but no 2. 0T, no deal. Its already sad that you could never get the 2. 0T/10AT in the CRV and had to go up to the RDX, but taking it out of the last Honda product is a mistake. I guess its just another way to push buyers to the TLX, which is overstyled and has a cluttered interior. This new Accord interior is a sublime design.

Honda ditched the V6 and then the 2. 0t for the Accord. For some people, a bad move from Honda, especially considering the Pilot still has a V6 and the Acura RDX still has the 2. 0t. I guess those people would have to get the 10th gen for the 2. 0t or the 9th gen for the V6.

What a surprise, I wasn't expecting a new Accord today! It looks great, much better than the outgoing model, I never warmed up to it. I wish it had a liftback though, I think a lot of people would consider a sedan again if it had a hatch and a fold down rear seat

I am unsure if Honda is dropping the 2. 0T engine - it is merely not offering it now. Since there are all wheel drive vehicles among the completion, including the Acura TLX, Honda should stop thinking of sales cannibalization with the CRV. This car needs AWD.

How is the rear seat passthrough? Looks tiny. I need to be able to fit a XL-frame size bike but would prefer for it to not be visible from outside of the car. I've only been able to do this with a Mazda 6 or a BMW, but can't keep the passthrough hidden.

I'm a Toyota/Lexus/Subaru guy, but I've always had a soft spot for the late 90s Accords. The front end on this one makes me happy. Plus, I love the rear styling as well. If it had Outback ride height and a lift back option, I would probably consider it!

The new accord is disappointing without the 2. 0t. Maybe skip this model and wait for something more powerful. The 10sp auto gone. I don't care for cvt's. Save my nickels for the new straight 6 Mazda. I have owned 4 hondas including my current Ridgeline.

I don't understand why this isn't a hatchback. Something like an affordable A7. I would suspect Honda didn't want to compete too much with their crossovers making the Accord a hatchback.
The front end profile looks like an old Ford Taurus. Meh.

I'm sad to see the 2. 0L go, it was a fantastic powerplant for this car. Also, it's odd to see such a large screen in this and not the new Pilot. Honda really needs to get on the same page with their tech and standardize it across the lineup.

Omission of 2. 0T is a big miss. Current 2. 0T with 10 speed is a sweet spot. There aren't many options for people who want a powerful, reliable and reasonable priced midsize sedan anymore. I'm holding out home for an Accord Si or Type R.

This threw me back to the cab-forward that Chrysler introduced in the 90s. I know a lot of other car companies followed suit, but the moment I saw this Accord it harkened me right back to that exact style of design for the front passengers
