I think it's a good start, but shouldn't be the final product. It's too narrow. We are just homeowners, not workers, but even for our uses I think that is too narrow to really be helpful across a wide range of uses. However, our pet peeve loading our trucks through the years is the tailgate protruding out from the truck bed, facilitating the push pull of loading unloading stuff; heavy bags of products from Home Depot-type stores, luggage when traveling, boxes of stuff when moving, etc. We've always wished to be able to have closer access to the truck bed. Like I said, good start but it isn't quite right yet. I hope Ford is listening.

Seems to be answering a question that nobody asked. Ford guys are generally pleased with the tailgate step. This seems to be well Chevy and Ram have trick tailgates, I guess we have to as well.
The two seams down the middle would drive me crazy, as well as that bump-out for the handle up top.

I can't think of any reason why I would want this tailgate. As far as barn door tailgates go, one that opens the entire back end makes more sense.

Not being able to open the small part that doesn't open would drive me crazy. Even if they had hinged it separately it would have been OK.

It should swing to the left, that way you don't have to walk around it if you're loading something in the bed from the sidewalk.
