The 2024 GMC Acadia Is Finally The Denali Of 3-Row Family SUVs Nice first review. I don t understand why GM is reducing the size of the third row window. I took a trip in the full size 2023 GMC Denali and sat in the third row a good portion of the trip. Plenty of leg room and quite, but there was not enough third row window area to look at the landscape. Seems to be the same on all new GM SUV s. The Nissan Pathfinder still has them beat for towing (6000 vs 5000 lbs.

Great report Alex, been following and referring others to you for years, but I can't believe how quickly you blew off the headlight control on the screen. WTH? . What a b arrangement that is! Don't care about that? I blinked and you were on to the next item without even a remote acknowledgement that a lot of others might care? Talk about an area of don't fix what ain't broke! Take something critical that's ultra familiar, immediately accessible without even looking, kind of like a console shifter by the way, then change it up just for change (well, cheapness) sake then put it into an electronic format that just might ) have some problems down the line like everything else in that department? Never seen such a blatant change for the sake of manufacture cost-savings/profit. What's next, this particular model doesn't come with a steering wheel, don't care about that!
That, and once again do we know if the second row bench is available on the upper trim levels?

Very nice update over the current generation. The rear reminds me somewhat of a Honda Pilot, but overall, I think GM has performed a tastefuk redesign. The infotainment and electronics look very top tier for the class as well.
My only guess is that pricing will likely increase.

I'd take the lower powered V6 over the turbo 4. I've had a turbo engine fail in a on me in a minivan but it was the head gasket. People don't realize that turbos stress every part of the engine that is operating beyond its natural displacement.

GM is going to slowly get pushed out from a competitive standpoint if they continue to not get into hybridization. Makes no sense why they haven't done some competitive benchmarking. Honda Toyota and others have been doing hybrid for a long time.

This takes from a un competitive vehicle to maybe makes your shopping list. That said even with pricing being a secret I thing the Grand highlander and TX are the vehicles to beat. They have the powertrain flexibility that no other model can match.
reply

Looks like a Cherokee from the rear three-quarter angle. Interior is significantly improved. Would have been nice to see the Acadia continue to be a competitor to the Highlander, Santa Fe, and Sorento though.

I'm seeing a trend at GM, the 2. 7L being used as a universal powerplant in a variety of models. I wonder if it's the exact same engine as in the Colorado/Canyon just tuned differently?

The competition still is the better option when you consider price points, value, reliability and best of all warranty. Think it's time for a redisgn to save what image they do have left.

Forget about the reliability, that infotainment system is really good, it s so snappy without delay, no wonder GM claims you don t necessarily need Apple CarPlay.
reply

polish a turd all you want, it s still a turd. they all come standard with patented GM unreliability, horrific resale value, and ever present planned obsolescence.
reply

Wait wait. didn t they shrink the Acadia, a handful of years back. While the Chevy and Buick stayed bigger. But now we are making it bigger again?
reply

Nice Acadia I feel like aa a prototype bring that mothing od carbed in stone as of now ot looks good
I feel luke GM did a dandy of a job.

reply

Alex, I think the marketers/propagandists at GMC would be happier if you compare this to a Lexus TX rather than a mere Grand Highlander.
reply

Looks nice. Huge improvement from what's available now. That white interior and cargo area is going to get dirty AF though
