The 2024 EV6 GT Is A Serious Performance EV From. Kia?

The EV6 GT is a seriously impressive feat of engineering. Instead of designing a one trick pony, that just went fast to 60, Kia improved every aspect of performance from braking to battery and motor cooling, sports seats and track endurance. Even though they aren't calling it a track car (GT is afterall more of a road performance tagline, the EV6 has some serious cred.

Great job on the review. From an owner's standpoint, I've enjoyed my Runway Red GT for the last 3 months with just over 2k miles driven. I completely agree with the silliness regarding not having ventilated front seats, along with all the piano black plastic everywhere. From a usability standpoint, with sensible driving, I had been averaging 274 miles on a full charge, though highest was 289, though now that we've dipped into fall with our first snowfall and 20s outside, range has fallen to about 230. I'll be curious how it performs all winter, as I really enjoyed my Mach-E, though efficiency dropped to less than 2 mpkh. I've also noticed a much larger rear bias, so it'll be interesting when heavy snowfall starts.

Kia trying to call this a bargain taycan is funny, inferior platform, all it really has is a lot of power, a firmer suspension, and the obvious low center of gravity, honestly it probably doesn t handle as well as an M3P/ MYP since it s heavier but also I m pretty sure the next generation M3P probably will have adjustable bolsters etc and will actually be more of a performance vehicle with a better suspension, that the current M3P

No judge here, but I d really like to see how the battery capacity holds up after 3-5 years, 50-100k miles.
It s a plain fact that battery decays faster under more stress like fast charging/discharging. I m so interested in Kia s magic here to counteract the science.

They need to standardize battery modules across manufacturers. It is going to epic shit show when these all need batteries replaced and you have only one door to sell you specialized battery and they can ask as much as they want because no other options.

The main problem with the EV6 GT is the range, close to 200 miles
Now, I've owned many sports cars, and in the real world, when driven with vigor, they get not much more than 200 miles. The difference is its easy to find a gas station when low on gas.

Also alex I know you said you don t know but when we do finally get details on how V3 will work with kia s EGMP vehicles, I m hoping they will be able to pull a charge curve that s appropriate for 800V and not just similar to Tesla s curve on 400V

GT-Line AWD owner for 20 months now. Mine has been a fantastic vehicle, and I have no need to get the full on GT. While I'd certainly like to test drive a GT, I'd just get into trouble if I regularly drove one.

You know it s 2023 when a number of four door vehicles on the market. can out perform most sport cars at a fraction of the cost without making any noise!

I don't know much about EV but a 200 mile -ish range sounds bad. Yes, I understand recharge times are faster but I'd rather not stop sooner.
