Some take the names on their cars way too seriously. They're all junk--and Mr. Mo Fastly junk if you splash and soak them in corrosive water/ice/mud/crud for half the year or more. I've had fine foreign-made touring and sports cars, as well as plenty domestics (made in USA/CAN/MEX) and they all wear out parts and sometimes have issues and maintenance that must be performed for best results. The BIG difference is how much parts cost, and who might work on it (and how much they charge. We used to have to go to a different parts houses to get import parts. Remember that NO such thing now because every car company (selling here) has parts or fiduciary interest in a few other car companies and every single one of them is global, sending all the most labor intensive work to the poorest parts of the world where the minimum technical specs can be attained-for some percentage of the time. And they all do psychological studies to learned how best to manipulate/brand and SELL us another vehicle. Don't let the hoopla stick, drive 'em all, lemons come in every flavor.
(insert Auction cars quote here.
Remember folks, If Eric O. can do it, WE can do it.

Dammit.
I just got my dogs all settled down and back under the covers where they need to be (it's wet outside, and THAT GUY goes by your shop and toots his everlovin' HORN.
When he does that, my girl dog takes off outside to bark at him. He's never there, but I cannot convince her of that. She hears a horn and she's ready to raise hell and let everybody know about it. We don't get a lot of traffic 'round here.
Then the old dog gets up and we have to go through the whole doggie arrangements and covers situation again, again.
TOOT!

Hi Eric, I really, really enjoy your videos! BUT I think you should change your catch phrase, If I Can Do It, You Can Do It, TO, I can Do It, You Might Be Able To Do It, (If You Pay'd Attention. . Oh by the way, I'm waiting for you to do some work on a 2003 Alfa Romeo 147 Selespeed, with leaking selespeed fluid from the solinoids, I need to see how to access the dambed solinoid Like I said Love all your videos. Take care my friend, have fun and enjoy.

I dont understand the facination with awd. A great set of winter tires(studded would be my favorite) would, in most cases, outperform awd on all-season tires. Awd adds complexity, and that means price. I sure would prefer simple mechanical 4wd or awd with mechanical VC. But nowadays, even Prius is offered with awd. On the other side looks like GM will help produce more SMA videos in a future, so win for us

I don't think you're old enough to be around when Chevy made decent vehicles good buddy! My first car was a 1991 Pontiac sun chicken. I never owned a GM product again. My dad was a die hard chevy guy and told me not to buy the 1991 Honda accord with a stick that I wanted so badly and that I had to buy the Pontiac because they were much superior cars! What a pile of poo that car was.

Whenever I have a connector that is tough plugging in, i just smear a thin film of dielectric grease in the female side of the housing and it clicks right together nice and smoothly every time. You wouldn't think the rubber would bind up like it does but clean rubber against clean plastic just will not slide. Oh and as a bonus the grease provides a little more moisture resistance!

SouthMainAuto, one thing with newer cars, the needle sweep, this removes the ability to diagnose a crank angle sensor without scan tools. It just a gimmick I dont know why people are so amused to have this function. Anyway, jeep up the good work Eric, glad to see you giving those connectors a good dose of de-oxit unlike Ivan PineHollow who frustratingly sprays it like gold dust

I'm a girl also and I love your videos! I see other comments from other girls here, yay girl power. I've learned so much from you, especially on your electrical gremlin videos. Your techniques for breaking the system down into smaller parts has helped me immensely in my own work. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into your videos.

I sure would like you to fix my 2016 Chevy Malibu. I replaced the battery sensor module since it was loose to the battery post and now I can’t clear the code and it’s the only code I have. I have looked for videos on it but it’s either the wrong sensor I have or it’s for a Honda. Phoenix Az is a long ways to go but to me it’s worth it

This design is just unbelievable, and what benefit did the hood on the side of the unit provide. Then look at what he has to do to program the damned thing. INSANITY! What the hell are these engineers thinking There is no way that a normal DIY person could resolve this problem. They have successfully rendered us obsolete.

Last year, I sold my two GM trucks. This is the first time since 1988 I have not owned a GM vehicle. They are all junk; not just GMs, all of them. Even Honda lost the recipe. Ford reminds me how much I hate it every time I get in it. You would think if just one company could make a decent vehicle they would rule the industry.

Interesting about the P/S. I heard ya about the tsb, so that's good to know as a tech looking at multiple symptoms, but I would love to know WHY would a failed diff module would take out the p/s, and not traction control or abs Could you tell on your test drive after you got it started if those systems were working

I replaced a transmission control module/valve body on an Equinox a while back. I called a bunch of independent shops to have it programed and no one could do it. I ended bring it to the dealer to have programed. I didn't want to go to the dealer, because of prior experiences. Surprisingly, they did a great job.

If auto manufacturers REALLY intended vehicles to last very long in the salt belt, they would make as much as possible out of aluminum. If people that LIVE in the salt belt actually wanted their vehicles to last very long, they would oil coat them. it's a very convenient symbiotic relationship.

GM engineers must live on a different planet. Why would anyone put electronics on the bottom of a car. I guess they missed the class on water and electricity doesn’t mix. Anything that will strand the owner should not be outside the car or inside the car where water may settle. COMMON SENSE DA!

I owned GM products built in '57, 70, '74, 78, 82, 83, 90, 93, 96, 98, 02, 03, 04 (still have the 03 Sirrra and 04 Suburban) but the 2011 Enclave had enough problems for 10 cars. I've had 3 VWs since then, all great. Now my kid sells Toyota, so I'm about to develop a new brand loyalty.

It’s satisfying to know the customer green lighted repairs, even more satisfying when you resolve the issue and it’s fixed. I have had more Chevrolets than I care to recall. I currently own a Subaru, and do not plan on ever giving GM any of my money again.
