we finish putting the lower control arms, tie rod end and tire on this '09 Ford Fusion. All that is left is to check the wheel alignment and make sure we cure the customer complaint of the clunk noise and shimmy

Just getting to see this video. Am I crazy or did you just edit past balancing that wheel! You can't spin it with the weight on, remove it and just add a weight without re-spining first. That 1. 5oz will not be accurate. Does your machine have a magic ignore installed weights button? Not hating on you Mr. O, I love the videos, but 1/2 the time I am looking for the hey I know I just put this here, but we forgot to do xyz first. Must have just hit the editing room floor. ;)

I can understand keeping costs down for customers, not everyone can afford what needs to be done. But I would have a difficult time bringing myself to replace suspension components on only one side of the car and not replace the same parts on the other side. Thankfully I only have to work on my own cars so it's my choice.

I found that there are too many differences in tierod ends to count turns. I measure the tires with a tape measure before taking apart and look at the angle of the good side. That seems to yield better results. And of course send it for alignment after.

That barcode label on the lip of the tire may cause a slow leak. This happened on my Pilot Sport Runflat. A few PSI lost every few days. I don't know why tire manufacturers insist on putting a label right where they shouldn't put it.

I know this is an old video, and you might not see this comment, but I was gonna say. I always put those sleeves back in with a bolt and nut and large washers. Quick and easy with an impact.
Great video as usual sir.

When I was a kid, Ford used to have a TV commercial that said, better ideas come from Ford. It had a lightbulb that would light up. Well in my thinking, the lights are on but nobody's home.

What ive witnessed first hand at walmart tire shops is them put the tire on the balancer run it then take it off. No weights put on or anything. They just make it look like their doing their job.

American Shite! --- Two tapered ball joints on the same bottom of Hub? -W. T. F LIKE? AND to use straight to tapered bushes ACTUALLY DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE DESIGN USE OF A TAPERED JOINT!

Lol my ant had the same thing happen at a Walmart. Took it in for an oil change and drove 200 miles with no oil cap. Stopped cause she smelled burning oil, popped the hood and what a mess.

This is an absolute classic episode. :-) Hilarious comments throughout accompanied by expert skills. Just killer. This so beats everything else on network TV, cable, etc. SMA rules.
