I bring you along as we swap out the front struts on this '07 Subaru Forester. Alisha: That was a great video and you gave some Great tips on safety. I have installed Monroe Quick struts on my friends Jeep Grand Cherokee WK. We are on our second set of Quick struts with in 2 years and both times the strut springs have failed. It's having problems holding the weight of the vehicle. At this time I'm looking into replacing the springs and keep the struts because they're still good. The quick strut assembly in this Jeep is only a year old. My question is who makes a good spring should I go with OEM but they're very expensive or should I try an aftermarket like moog. Do you know a good manufacturer that makes good Springs. I am now very weary of buying any Monroe products after this experience.

I like your videos primarily because of the tremendous amount of correct information you share, the correct methodology/ and the warnings/gotchas. It is one thing to film your work and it is another to deliver instruction as you do- it is a tough job, and I admire and respect you for that. As another person pointed out, your quality of work demands a higher hourly rate. Stealerships charge 125 per hr! Here's to many more years of instructional videos.

I worked on the Final Assembly line for Oldsmobiles for a year. We assembled one car every 40 seconds, which is 180, 000cars on my shift that year. Across the aisle from me, 3 meters (30 ft) away, they compressed the front springs. Two or three times each day one of those compressed springs got loose. It was horrible. They really fly, fast & far, AND they weight a lot. Eric is correct! Do NOT allow the spring to get loose.

Eric, just did this job tonight on my outback before i found this. I did not know about the alignment of the circle and the bottom of the mount. I did however make sure that I aligned the top plate with the original imprint of the stock spring which i reused. By aligning the imprint to the spring did i essentially align these components. Car drives fine afterwards. Thanks.

Now i understand. There are so many idiots doing these videos that you need to watch 5 of them on the same job. South Main is a plus 2 today. would have been a plus 5 had he not added a disclaimer to those spring compressors Autozone.

My wife told me I am making up car issues to fix since I started watching you videos. There are pre built struts for many cars. They ride much better than a leaking strut, half the price of a factory.

Beautiful little daughter Eric! Love the video! I have a 2001 Subaru Forester and I have changed my inner and outer tie rods and cv joints just by watching all you guys! Keep up the good work!

This is so freaking hard to get around the bottom flange with those autozone spring compressors. Literally impossible to get the alignment on the spring correct.

I get that center nut started and install the strut in the vehicle and tighten it down in the car. I get loaded struts now it's faster and no autozone spring traps

Thank you for the Special Guest Appearance of Ms. Trinity, Eric! Her face-making and cleverness take me right back to childhood, and it's a great trip!
