Ok Ok. I left ya hanging long enough, lets finish it for real this time! Miss part 1? Miss Part 2? : Miss Part 3? : Out: Had a Izuzu Trooper many years back, it had GM Parts on it as well, half the thing was GM Parts and the other half Toyota parts ( branded Izuzu ) Had friend who worked in Japan and China for couple years each, told me lots of GM Vehichles over there branded under the Toyota name, they all say they are in competition but in reality they are more partners in the Global World if trade and commerce. We were in France several years back quite few Ford's being sold under the Fiat name, opened the hood on our friends Fiat and there and behold a Ford Engine 1. 6 lt, just really never know

Great job topped off with a dirty valve cover. Sorry, no way I don't wash that thing before placing it over all that hard work and great running engine. Just me I reckon. And no, in order for it to make the engine run better, Eric, it has to be clean. At least for the 5 minutes it'll have before it hits the dirt roads again. And yes, a clean valve cover would be a mismatch for the rest of that dirty engine, but then, it does sit on top. I guess that's why I just clean cars and don't work on them. I did love the video, Eric and thanx for making it for us. ;-)

I probably would've slapped some new spark plugs in it but he may have done that anyway. Really solid job & probably a bargain compared to buying another car. Curious how much of a mileage guarantee one gets on a boneyard motor? That water pump full of fuel, intake full of oil & 10k plus between oil change led to a hard financial lesson about basic maintenance. Excellent engine replacement though, Eric is so thorough and relaxed, I'd be cussing up & down on 90% of that job. Thanks for the lessons professor O!

I know I'm late to the game with this comment, but I like the engine swap videos, and other bigger projects. I especially liked this one, since I have a Corolla close to the same model year. Different car in many ways, but under the hood, it looks the same as mine. This series will help me whenever I'm tinkering.

The part about the oil change being that far over due is nasty! Imagine if that is what caused it! Yikes. I was taught fluids are the most overlooked and abused parts of an engine trans etc. And if that is what caused it an mighty expensive oil change!

I've never seen an intake with that kind of schmoo in it. Can't remember who said it but. there's you're problem lady. My guess on the intake diaper is noise reduction. Great series, loved every minute of it. Thanks for taking the time to produce it!

Wow your camera really does pick up on some of the quieter sounds and make them just as loud as anything else. At 51: 55 it sounds for all the world like rattly lifters, but I imagine it's really the camera's exaggerated take on the injectors clicking.

FROM PART 3: When trying to stretch cloth or leather in any upholstery setting use steam. It provides extra stretch and makes it less likely to tear. A lot of steam equals less muscle and smoother installs, and makes for a happier MRS. O.

Brings back many a fond memory. Thank you. just rebuilt a mini cvt gbox in my garage between trips all over the world repairing and installing equipment. In TX for past two weeks and before that Thailand.

I know this is really late but Toyota make one of the converter bolts with a taper so it centralises the rest of the bolts. It's usually also a different colour.
