A state inspection on this 2007 Chrysler Town and Country revealed that the horn does not work. Simple right? Well we better have a closer look. Looking for a new test light?

I'm dealing with a PCM issue on a '99 intrepid right now. Because they potted it with thickened silicone gorilla snot and they didn't put any available test points on the circuit card, its virtually impossible to determine if the problem is in the wiring harness connector ( the whole harness of which is deemed to be a single part with the power distribution center [PDC]) or in the PCM, so, constructively, the module and its wiring harness (and the PDC if its on the same harness) should be considered ONE part. Not only is this wiring harness not available new from the dealer anymore, but its about 10 hours to change out the harness. You quite literally have to have a duplicate car there to plug the module into to be able to determine whether its the harness/connector or the module (and if the module needs to be programmed, like with the SKIM code or mileage/VIN they you have further overwhelming complications. In spite of all this insanity I still do like Chrysler products. I could definitely see the benefit of preventative spraying all their electrical connections with some sort of corrosion prevention dressing BEFORE things start going haywire (and repeating the process every year or two throughout the life of the car.
What did the owner decide to do Eric?

Got the horn in my 2004 DGC working. Note: the relay pin numbers are next to the relay pins and the FCM pin numbers are on the FCM connector. Also the schematic provided by Eric Os. vid match my van. I verified continuity from the horn button at FCM - 17 to battery negative, checked and found FCM - 10 to horn relay 85 OPEN, verified +12V at horn relay pins 86 & 30, then paper clip jumpered horn relay pins 30 & 87 and the horn honked. Given the design of the the power module and FCM my solution was to jumper FCM - 10 socket to horn relay - 85 with a piece of 24 AWG solid wire. I inserted the wire into the FCM - 10 socket and dressed the wire so as to allow the wire to exit the weather seal around the FCM plug body and then put the other end of the wire into horn relay pin 85 socket, and put the relay back in. Tooot! via steering wheel. I chose to not wire FCM - 10 to 17 as the horn button my not last too long driving a relay directly as it lacks the inductive suppression diode provided by the output at FCM - 10. Thank you Eric for your service!

Ok. First of all, I am gonna try and watch this again even though I know my prob is the Clockspring. 2ndly I love to learn and have learned more about my 99 T&C in last few weeks than I have in years upon years and enjoy most of the YT vids. Now, 3rdly. I have to ask a serious but non-applicable to this vid(mostly) question and do not mean to sound obtuse but man you sound just like Beetlejuice. I got in a trance trying to figure where I knew that voice from. Sorry but I really had to and be proud of it, I think it is cool. The more the video progressed, the more I caught myself smiling Thx.

Hi, I live here in the UK and my friend has a Chrysler grand voyager 2008 model. His indicators have stopped working and despite my best efforts we cannot get the fault located and all the garages here just won't look at it because we can't locate a wiring diagram from anywhere, including Jeep in Italy. The other thing we have found is that there is no internal wring /fuse board in the cabin. any help would be greatly appreciated. Love watching you on Youtube.

Thank you, I called my mechanic, he gave me an estimate 1200! I can't get a sticker, so I will drive my van for 5 weeks and park it, it was given to me, it's my only transportation so I am more or less house bound for the winter. I have an income of 510 a month & am disabled, I hate Chrysler right now, this van is more rust than good metal!

I think it would have been helpful to hook up an ohmmeter to pins 10 and 17 on the power control module to either eliminate it, or locate, the problem. Then the same on the contacts on the box where the PCM plugs into.
It was nice to see your son wanting a hug, and you did not edit it out.

Thank you so much for making this vid. with your help was able to fix horn fast. Did not care about other functions honking the horn so i just pulled out ipm, unclipped and removed bottom cover, soldered wire from pin 19 to ground side of relay coil socket, reinstall, done. thanks again.

when the horn button doesn't work, try the key fob panic button. if the vehicle's alarm can sound the horn, you can mark off the front control module, relay load side, etc as being functional. may help cut down which portion of the circuit needs diagnosing!

Can you do a video on tec behind caravan spark plugs, why it puts out so maney volts, and why anti seize goop just defeats the power you want back in your van. I seen no one on you tube has ever nailed it right, Eric show m how it done and why Please

I have watched much of your videos and they have helped alot. I have a 2005 town&country I bought it w/127k miles. It now has 177k miles. I haven't changed the transmission. Is it risky to change and what oil do I use? Thanks
