Come along in the shop as we look at two different vehicles both experiencing the same problem. First one is a Buick LeSabre with an ABS Code C1214. The second one is a Chrysler Town & Country with an ABS Code C2200. We also get a little bonus at the end playing with the Autel MS908

I owe you some ice cream or something. I had a 2009 Routan (aka a rebadged Caravan) with C2200. Since no body rebuilds these modules and I had nothing to lose I took mine off and split it along the mold seam for the top. Inside all the board pin connections are press-fit! They don't even attempt to solder them anymore. I put some electronics flux and leaded solder on them and reinstalled it in the van figuring why the heck not. Well it worked, all the brake/abs/trac/esp lights are off and have been for a week. I took pictures if you want to see what the inside of the EBCM/ABM looks like: )
I see what you mean by the bolts being stuck. I freed mine up by putting my shortened T20 3/8 drive socket on them and giving them a good tap with a hammer. It seemed to jar them so they weren't stuck and I was able to unscrew them out. I didn't think that would work since I also live in the 'rust belt'.

I have an 08 Charger. Have the same issue with having to calibrate the steering if the brake/ABS light comes on. It'll do that if I have to disconnect the battery for repairs. it'll come on with reconnect. Basically, start the vehicle with steering straight. Turn all the way to the left, then all the way to the right. Repeat again, and then center. Turn engine off. Turn engine on. Drive the vehicle. Light will go out shortly. If it doesn't, repeat the procedure. Chrysler is just odd. I also have to 'calibrate' the power windows too after disconnect of battery (all the way down, hold button down. All the way up, hold button up. What can I say, it's Mopar.

When my wife had her 97 Grand Cherokee, intermittently, the ABS light would come on, I can't remember the code now, erase the code, it took time to come back. I remember testing the pump motor for excessive current draw, even posting it on iATN. I did replace the module, it seems like most 12 volt motors, the in-rush current was a little high, according to the scope, but the motor had no problems. I could only think the module couldn't handle the current, because the new module had no problems and years later when she got rid of the vehicle the ABS still worked! Go figure! Great 2 for 1 Video!

Eric, I understand what you mean completely about feeling like the grim reaper some days. I am a Mercedes-Benz & BMW Technician (for the last 12 years) and also independent like you are. I get discouraged sometimes as well and I work on some of the most beautiful and special cars around! I can't imagine what it would be like if I were working on the types of shitboxes you get in the shop on a daily basis. I probably would have offed myself a long time ago. My hat is off to you, with massive respect. You sir, are a hero.

Sam and Henry were characters in a radio Sit-Com in the 1920s. They were black characters written and performed by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll (neither were African American. The characters formed a moving company where Henry was the over-bearing Boss and Sam was the guy who did all the work. They predated Amos n Andy who were also created by Gosden and Correll after Sam and Henry went off the air. Just so you would know. now, back to the car repairs.

Excuse me I have the same problem in a 2008. code c2200, perform voltage tests on pins 1, 32, 8 and earth on pins 16, 47. all ok then the problem is the module, I have to replace it, here in Mexico it is very expensive. Can I bring the truck running like this without the abs? or could a wheel be blocked if I did not solve the problem? thank you so much.

That C1214 code is the same as happens on the Corvette. It is caused by a bad relay in the EBCM Module and the relay can be replaced seperately by careful technicians. Of course GM wants to sell you a new module for over 1, 000 (The relay itself would be about 10 so just find a shop that does module repairs near you)

Which Autel model did you use to reprogram the ABS module? I have to replace my ABS module and reprogram a couple of TPMs on my 08 Town and Country. I figured I might as well buy an Autel as an investment to avoid taking it to the stealership. Thanks in advance!

Can you please give a little more detail on how you disconnected and reconnected the wiring harness on the Dodge ABS module? My 2008 town and country gives the C2200 code for a month or so and then goes away, and then comes back a year later! Thanks

Never heard of them but. Sam 'n' Henry was a radio series performed by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll that aired on Chicago radio station WGN from 1926 through 1928. The ten-minute program is often considered the first situation comedy.
