If you are trying to safe that ball joint, then dont pull or push down from the control arm. As it can spreds the ball joint ball hole. That tool is must have on aluminium, but if its harder metal then you can use hammer to make it loss. But dont pull or push down the arm before that ball joint is lose, if you are trying to safe it.

I've actually had that exact same kit for many years. for front end work, it's generally 1 of the 1st things I grab except for my 2 pronged tie rod remover you showed has seen some better days. lol.

Oh, and tool tip for the tie rod tool. when you're done screw it back into the jaws, if you loose the tip, they're useless. And I've had the tip blow out like my shorts when old rusty finally popped and tie rod job turns into clean up the shop job.

i got the same set off the mac truck lifetime warranty i don't know if OTC lifetimes this set or not. be careful with that pitman arm puller mine the first time out she became 2 part numbers got a new one scared to use it.

That same ball joint tool works great for pressing back the copper sleeve on alternators that helps make them extremely difficult to reinstall unless it's hammered back or pressed back with that ball joint tool!

I have the Harbor Freight version of this tool. Worked great on the original upper and lower ball joints on my 2000 Navigator. Worked on my old 95 Villager too. The tool demo videos help me a lot! Thanks.
