I have a look at a customers Subaru that got towed in for what I was told, It quit going down the road and we think it is the alternator. Come to find out before the car was brought to me AFTER it quit on the highway the customer added 3qts of oil to it. You will see I added 1qt to it in the video and it was still a tad low. That makes it 4qts low when it died! No wonder it turned out how it did

I know this is an old video and ive seen it long ago but in my opinion anyone who cant check the oil and be able to add a quart shouldnt even be able to have a drivers license. Just like someone who calls a wrecker to come change a flat tire. They show up and use your jack and tools and your own little spare tire or doughnut to put back on while your standing there with your thumb up your butt and looking super capable of doing it yourself. I guess im just a harda! #

I've installed Long Block assemblies available from the Japanee Engine Co for around 1500. 00 with a warranty. These used Long Block Engines come directly from Japan and have around 50, 000 miles on them, which is documented! You install the USA Intake/Exhaust Manifolds along with your accessories, i. e. A/C, Alternator, PS Pumb etc. I alway install anew Timing Belt and Water Pump. Its a lot easier than fixing a leaking Head Gasket or other engine repairs.

I sold a Kia van a long time back. Damn thing had all the maintenance records, had a fresh service upon arrival and had been driven around town for errands. Within 5 minutes of selling it the damn thing spit a rod! There was no warning at all. Luckily she bought the warranty and got a new engine. That engine after spitting a rod had more oil than that.

I recently heard that sound with my Subaru. it was the idler gear for the timing belt and mine actually blew apart! 1200. 00 later my car is as good as gold! Timing jumped a bit but no smashing of the valves. lol

At the gas station I go to in Jersey, the gas jockey told me that I am the only one that checks his oil period. I check it with every fill up. Maybe that is why I have 169K on my Jeep Grand Cherokee.

my Subaru died and was apparently a quart low after I just changed it and then it didn't start changed starter and it knocked like that found out it was piston caps and then it finally blew

All subarus need an oil level check light/sensor or done manually every 2500km or whatever miles. Subies swallow oil like a hungry seagull, but they run for ever. Check the oil gosh darnit.

Speaking of the whole story, I can hear good ole Paul Harvey saying in the background, and now you know the rest of the story. I sure do miss hearing him on the radio.

How the camera picked it up. was a sound like a large crew of angry gnomes smashing shit with hammers inside the motor. Oh my.
