Any idea about a supposed Oil Cooler Failure?
My RAM Promaster City overheated, and the dealer is claiming it won't fall under the Powertrain Warranty because it was the cooler not the oil pump, which isn't in the list of powertrain parts that are covered.
I suspect they're trying to screw me and duck the warranty, because I spoke to another dealership's parts guy and he said he's never heard of an Oil Cooler failure in a Promaster City and confirmed that it's a passive part that oil just passes through. But I don't know how a passive part like that fails other than cracking and allowing oil out, but I had NO oil loss, and checking the stick, it was still topped off fairly after it overheated, blowing oil into the coolant.
To me, sounds like the oil pump failed, which is under the powertrain warranty, and they're just trying to duck paying for it by saying it was the oil cooler that failed.

For me I enjoy seeing all the different ways of doing something as simple as brakes. This video was the first time I saw a wire run into the brake pad. Glad you mentioned how it is expected to work. At the beginning I was just about to back it up to see when you removed the wheel studs and why. Then you mentioned it didn't have any. I think the wheels would be a lot of fun to change a flat in the rain! Then change the wheel hub because the threads are damaged from being cross threaded. And then the excitement of you removing the rotors. Wondering how many of your bones are going to get broken. (or cut your air hose) So keep them coming apparently there is a lot out there too see and enjoy watching.

Anybody else noticed the new pads have an extreme bevel on the leading and trailing edges. Seems like you will be 50% thru the pads before your getting full surface area.
A set I bought recently from O'Reilly's was the same. not sure what the purpose is of that. pads did not use to be like this.

Have you ever considered using Disc Quiet between the pads and caliper? We don't have the corrosion problems like you do out here, but it does a great job of reducing disc squeal. It sets up over time, and I would think that it might do a better job of sealing the caliper/pad area off from the elements.

Like all others, i watch all your videos the only thing i do different on these type of brakes is to remove the rubber sleeve the slide pin goes in to on the caliper to remove the rust and apply lube if not the rust can squeeze on the slide pin thanks for all your videos Eric

When I switch my winter wheels with the summer wheels and my euro trash nuts are like these, how do I clean the white corrosion off the wheel studs? The owner manual says to not lube my nuts as they can come loose under operation. Any tips and jokes are appreciated!

Thanks for putting up these videos. Always good to get another professional perspective. You see a lot more rust back east than we do in Kansas. What product did you spray on the Rotor-Hub surface?

I forget to pump the brakes 33 years ago back in high school auto shop. The overhead door was closed and I hit the door frame and cinder brick wall with my 77 Monte Carlo.

Just like the Ford transit connects just minus the wear sensor and lug bolts. Most brake jobs are interesting. Like ones with the big calipers and different size rotors

You funny! Man dig it. Recently bought used ram pro master city 2016. Thank you your video helped me get started. Have you changed the radiator fan in this make and model?
