I have a look at a 2014 Ford Taurus that came in with the engine light on and a code P0456 for a small EVAP leak. This is a relatively common issue with these vehicles. Come along for the diagnosis!

Hey Eric O love your vids watch all the time I was wondering if maybe you could give me some ideas for tracking down what's going on with my car 2011 Crown Vic Interceptor stalls while driving they're is a wrench light that comes on in the cluster when this happens no check engine light or codes stored when I scanned it if I turn the key off and restart it runs fine again until it decides to quit any help you could give would be greatly appreciated it's hard to find an honest mechanic around here and I don't want to just start throwing parts at it

Hello,
I have a 17 Kia Optima with 58k on the clock and noticed its using oil. It will use around 2qts every 3-5k mikes. I just noticed this issue during last oil change so I called the Dealership. They said its possibly the pcv valve but I just wanted to see if you have had ran into this issue. From what I gather the 2. 4l is known for this issue. I am taking to dealership this week but I just didnt know if I should let them mess with it or just get rid of it.

Thanks for the info. I was having trouble with the same code. Couldnt get a straight answer from anyone. Car ran like crap. Until! I hit the purge valve with the end of my screw driver, and wha la! It worked. The purge valve was stuck open. Its running like a top now, and hasnt stuck again. Crossing my fingers but it did work. So at the moment saved myself 250. 00 in parts and labor. So thank you, and keep up the help videos.

1: 00 You gotta be careful with those automatic adjust seats. Iv turned the key on customer car and the seat starts moving forward more and more and more and then I realised that yeah the customer is actually 5'2 not that looking at them puts that into perspective the way that a memory seat bending your knees to your ears does.

First evap leak job I get after I get my Autel906BT, a P0456 small leak on a 2010 Lincoln MKZ with a 3. 5. What a PITA to get to the purge valve, under the P/S reservoir buried back by the firewall. Fortunately I think the vent valve is the leak as I have smoke coming out of it when it should be closed.

I've been to three separate mechanic workshops
and they've all run smoke tests and cannot find the leak anywhere.
Replaced the purge valve, solenoid, and evap canister filter and the
check light comes back on in 20 miles or so with p0442. The gas cap was also
replaced with a new one.

Not likely the best location, hot engine compartment, for a plastic sub-standard purge valve. They could have mounted it on the inner apron area off to one side and saved a bunch of degrees for a reliable/longevity location for a mechanical device made of plastic.

Should the line going from purge valve to the tank hold pressure? I tested my purge valve by blowing in and sucking on the hose (giggity) and theirs no leak however the line that come from the purge that goes to canister to the tank has massive leak

Daniel Simpson is right. I should hit the like button when this video started. This was informative and again entertaining. Eric, you and your friend Ivan both would have me as a customer if I wasn't 1700 miles from you. GOD bless you and your family.

Still have this code on my '99 2. 7L Dodge Intrepid. I just clear the code, drive 30 miles then get my annual inspection done. Have been doing that for over 4 years now haha! Never bothered nor figured out what/where the problem is
