Eric There is a great tool for splicing wires together, it is called a picabond (not a sponsor. This tool has a number of picks that you can get, including weather proof. They also have many different wire gauge sizes. I have used this tool for a number of years in the gaming industry and even though it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the cost. If you can reach the wire with a soldering gun, you can reach it with the picabond. No need to strip, solder, or use heat shrink.

An 1993 Saturn SW2 had a lever that opened its gas door but it was wired released. Still had to close it manually. Our other vehicles are manually open and closed. Our oldest car is a 2001 Ford Escape and our newest car is a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. The two in the middle are 2007 Saturn Vue and Aura. Loved to see about cars that we own and see what may go wrong so I can so do it. Love your videos and keep doing a great job! :)

Watching you poke into the wire harness and try to pull out something from the bottom of the bundle, I swear you need a crochet hook. Nice small one that can help slip through it and pull out the right wire. I bet it would help you access tiny wires in tight places HEAPS.

Why has nobody taught me that tape trick before! The amount of times Ive wrestled with a huge long piece of loose tape trying to wrap some impossible to reach location, while the tape tries to stick to everything. Definitely trying that one next time.

The programs like he is using aren't free, in fact they can be very expensive and they require yearly updates, also expensive. People need to realize that it takes a lot of money to keep a shop going and a good one like this deserves top dollar.

Fine job of trouble shooting! If it was my car, I would do like you said, run a hot wire with a inline fuse! but for a customer you got to do it right! Did a lot of inline fuse bypassing due to corroded wires in a harness! (On my cars )

Interesting. I noticed the electrical diagrams, and was wondering if you could share the name/vendor.
I am working on my sons 2008 MKZ and has a few electrical problems on it's own
Thank you in advance

I have to open the trunk skirt sometimes to jump the pump at the fpdm pin connector after they've been sitting for a period of months and the pump won't turn. Sure beats replacing the pump.

Had to laugh when you cut open the harness and looking for the green wire I thought probably on the bottom and you said probably on the bottom about 5 seconds later
