I think the drive cycles are guidelines, I've had them complete on my cars after 2 days of not ever reaching those random parameters that are supposed to be met. I think they don't have to be done at once, for example idle. I have never idled a car for 8 minutes straight to complete a drive cycle, but I'm sure it has idled a total of 8 minutes in the time when the drive cycle completed.

Here in Southern California, it can be tricky to perform the drive cycle test. I usually go out on the local roads and freeways about 6: 00 AM on Saturday or Sunday morning. Then I can do the slow driving and long 55 MPH drives without being in anyone's way. I follow the procedures I find on the Internet for various makes and find that all monitors pass within about 30 minutes.

i know my 2016 Elantra you have to turn the key to on but not start and wait for the computer to completely start or you can get a stall. it's because the temperature doesn't register until the electric is completely on and you can get a bad fuel mix. i think it's exacerbated because i live at altitude. this is for the 2016

My local mechanic down under cannot see the value in him spending 15, 000 on top of the range diagnostic tools, obviously you have to see where your bread and butter comes from, but for him he says there is so much highly complex stuff coming out now that he cannot justify the expense. Still does a good job though.

Eric, when you did this one did you check or set the minimum idle speed by running the IAC all the way in (blocking all bypass air, disconnecting, and running engine to see what the minimum idle speed would be?

Eric, I have a favor to ask: could you take a test drive up Main St past the funeral home? I want to see what it looks like, and that part of the street isn't on Google Maps Street View. Thank you

I just had a citroen C4 with 31 codes in it, all I had to change was the front left ABS sensor to fix it, sometimes diagnostic tool make you search for problems where there aren't any

I apologize if this comes off rude but I really don't want to watch a 45-minute video for you to tell me what's wrong, short version, that would be fantastic.
