Now that we had a look at the pathfinder in a previous video and discovered someone else had been there before us, it's time to fix it! Is it the steering angle sensor or the wrong clock spring? Let's find out. Mike: Ya, O. E. M's are REAL PROUD of their parts! It shows in their pricing! I have an 06 Frontier and when I need and can wait for the dealer parts, I order them from different Nissan parts places online. The locals in Palmdale Cal can get parts, but are expensive. When I do order from others, I also buy their oil filters. Less expensive than local, and about the same cost as aftermarket filters here.
Good fix Mr. O.

Here in Nova Scotia you need a red seal mechanic to sign off on the MVIs (safety inspection) anyone can pretty much do the work. You also pay a license fee to have a shop and be licensed to do MVIs. Most shops have a used vehicle dealer license as well. (And to be a dealer you need to be able to do MVIs as dealer sold vehicles have to come with a new MVI) And some shops have a appraisers license as well. I don't know all the ins and outs of it all but this is what I understand of the system from the mechanics and shops I have ever dealt with.

Jeez! Don't talk about needing a state license to be a mechanic! New York bureaucrats haven't thought of it yet. Don't give them new ideas to waste your money by establishing a mechanics licensing bureau with hundreds of bureaucrats checking your credentials every month to make sure your training is up to date. You don't want them checking your work logs to ensure that you haven't attempted any repairs for something you haven't completed their mandatory training module successfully!

i had more than 7 different cars in my life from different brands and design. most of them were very unstable. notably a chevrolet Alero that literally spun around and slid into a ditch at 20km/h in light snow. the best i had was a Saturn SL 1995 that was so comfortable and stable it was like driving a spaceship.
in my opinion the electronics fail and are highly unreliable. the most important are the overall design of the suspension and frame.

No license required in Canada to be a mechanic. That being said, there is a four year apprenticeship that pretty much everyone goes through with their respective trade, and at the end you get your Red Seal certification, or ticket you could probably equate it to ASC certification. and good luck finding a job without that ticket, But it is not a requirement

Thanks for the content Mr. O, I think I heard on a video you are not ASE certified. However when you were working in your Dad's shop you just didn't settle just to be a points and condenser mechanic. You grew with the technology and became a master troubleshooter using all reference material available to you, great job.

Yes, we do need a license that you are a certified mechanic if you want to work on third party cars, license for bookkeeping and a license for retail. My employees just need to know how to wipe their behind. For the blower. disconnect your scan tool. I had some weird stuff happening on a D40 when my autel was hooked up

My Peugeot 206 was triggering the ESP on right hand corners at speed (off ramp) or hairpins at slow speed. Turned out that the torsion beam rear axle was bent. It also had variable steering on the highway when compressing, which is a really uncomfortable feeling.

Seems like a common issue on newer AWD Ford models. The HUD will say to service the advancetrac and that collision avoidance system is unavailable. Indicates a bad steering position sensor or someone forgot to align your steering wheel when they took it apart.

I had this exact same issue on a nissan rogue. Was a steering angle sensor that was 12 degrees out of its indexed position after an airbag module replacement. Have no idea how they managed to force the sensor on there but they did!
