You have provided me many hours of educational entertainment. It is refreshing that you are man enough to admit it when you make a mistake.
I am concerned for your safety, I have noticed that most of your struck tools (punches) have mushroomed ends. Mushroomed ends tend to cast off pieces at extremely high speeds. Grinding a slight bevel on the struck end prevents the spalling of the metal.

Drilling out the broken stud brought back a lot of memories for me. I worked on aircraft for 31 years and when doing the inspection on the wings we had to take off the leading edges and all the screws are sealed in and a lot of them would strip out on the head at removal and we had to drill and use extractors. All the screws were stainless steel also, hard to drill. Depending on the aircraft we had to take out 1-3 thousand screws.

A buddy of mine told me when dealing with exhaust manifold nuts or bolts, you should always try to tighten them the slightest bit before loosening them and then that way they don't break. Obviously you weren't concerned about that having all new parts. But if you have to reuse the hardware that's the method I was told. Just some free info for those in the comment section.

Wish I had seen this before I did mine. Ended up getting 2 new heads - sprung a couple leaks with the drill (LOL. Worked out because I changed lifters, bump stick, knock sensors - the whole nine yards. Those fel-pro bolts are great. 11/2 years later and they still come out no problem. Drivers side is definitely more of a pain.

ha! class action lawsuit against NAPA for supplying unclear instructions, remember the 'caution: coffee hot' fiasco with Macdonalds back in the day? 3 million bucks awarded to that person! throw common sense out the window when it comes to these situations

After all this time Eric's knowledge with how manufacturers brains work. He's thinking 2 step ahead of them. Nice the way you show how use the torch to heat only what is needed to get the job done. No more no less. Teacher Eric can we watch this again.

I've never been able to weld a small nut to a broken stud. Welding a washer to it first, makes welding the nut on a LOT easier since you can weld around the outside and still leave some hex for the wrench.
