Cadillac Escalade (Chevy Tahoe): Differentials and Transfer Case Oil Change spelunkerd: The way you put that hi-tack onto both sides of the gasket makes me think you are doing it to prevent leaks. Correct? I still ask myself if adding a little rtv to a paper gasket makes any difference, some say yes, some no, some say extra stuff makes it harder to take off the next time. After another leak from a paper gasket, I've been a little frustrated with the dry approach.

Apparently Ray doesn t watch your videos! He prefers to fill the diff with whizzy wheel garbage, then use 2 cans of brake clean to flush it out. Seems the rag is a lot easier.

Hey, I'm new. You said no need for the locktite on the plug up front, but yes on the others. Is there a general rule you use for when you do and when you don't, personally?
