Jeep Renegade: A/C Lines - Suction & Discharge Jon: Hi, Mr. O. I guess Jeep and Cadillac have fallen the farthest in my eyes. The manufacturers can have as many robots build cars as they like, but repair is just getting more difficult. Soon, the Tesla will be made in one stamping. But fixing a dent already runs in the thousands, and if a Tesla is hit just right, it is easier to total it than repair it. A direct hit on a wheel can bend the frame. That results in a battery replacement 20, 000 plus repairs - if possible. At least Tesla will have universal charging plugs in the future. Now, if only Tesla could make a deal with Fisher, the old interior design bureau of GM. Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!

Anybody think of buying any renegards DON'T. Biggest POS ever. 20k and tranny is jerking like a bull, whack electronic issues when it's cold, nearly stalling if you shit from drive to reverse and throes engine codes. Cheapest plastic known to man, you have to rip half the dash to get to the cabin filter. Rides like a tin can JUST NOOOOOO NOOoo. Only thing I enjoyed was 4x4 worked excellent. Listen to Erics advise, and scotty kilmer and me. DO NOT BUY THESE FIAT JUNK oh and the engine is so clackly since new. Luckily we sold ours for near what we paid for it. We where young and I didn't know any better

on the refrigerant detector tips, sometimes they make poor contact where screwed on. those are generally gold plated and any dust/dirt/debris/tarnish can make them not work.
clean very carefully with q-tip and 99% rubbing alcohol, Don't drowned the whole tip or mating end! Wet the q-tip and fling out any excess alcohol, then gently clean the contacts and let air dry, then puff with light air/breath to make sure no cotton is left behind, then thread sensor end on.

Plastic-Clips from hell that break when you look funny at them and bolts made from air that break when you want to extract them that are on the underside where all the crud and salt can get to them. Nice design. Wouldn't it be easier and fit the style of as cheap as possible if they would have just used plastic christmas trees on the underside?
As always a great video to watch when waking up and drinking my first coffee before work! Keep up the great work.

Wow! Mrs O looked hotter than ever in this video! All that and she is a great cook. Eric you are a lucky man.
Really interesting video, just shows how designers have moved from designing things to be repairable to designing down to a price. Well done for keeping your cool with the dodgy press clips. I can only imagine how hard it must have been to keep working with the smell of those ribs drifting around the shop.

Random question non related. What's people's opinion on Runflats vs spare tyre? I've got Runflats and they are expensive to replace. But are they worth it in the long run. Seem to get crabbing on full lock which eats them. Learned to increase my turning circle. Advice welcome. Not a mechanic BTW.

By the way, what's the book time on that job? Or is there one? Back in the early '80s, outside of the dealership, we sometimes had to call the dealer to see what the time was, since Chilton's and Mitchell hadn't caught up with the new generation of cars, and the internet was still a dream.

Its amazing how cheap these things are made that they don't just burn to the ground after a couple years. Sucks that they can sell such crap at the prices they do. I encourage everyone to do a lot of research on a make and model before buying a vehicle. Unless your pockets are lined!

need to use a smaller impact, like a cordless 1/4 hex drive model with socket adapters, then work it back and forth with lube. those have far less torque and do a lot more rattling, they'll still break smaller bolts off, but far less likely if your careful and whip it good.
