I think this raises an important point, things that are broken can't really start. And I think this reflects our own lives because the relationships we have with others and even ourselves will not really work if we are broken because how will we start focusing on ourselves or our relationships if we have something in us that can't function properly, it will be impossible because that thing will always hold us back compared to those who don't have it so we are limiting ourselves by not choosing to fix it and ignoring it. That is why I think this is a great analogy that if we want to start anything, we should focus on minimizing the broken parts of it first and then improve it.

I totally understand. My best friends daughter was in pickle with her vehicle they wanted 2, 300. 00 for repairs. and her Mother told me about it, I told her I would look at it, no promises. It was within my capabilities. took 1 week to fix everything 50 50 of new parts and parts from the junkyard. we spent 800. 00 on parts told her just don't let it get to this point again. . I charged her 60. 00 for the repairs. she said no way and gave me 100. 00, she tried to give me 500. 00. I said no way. To this very day we are very very close. and her car was sold 3 years later.

I was watching Just Rolled In the other day and someone had installed an aftermarket radio in their car. It didn't work. When the tech pulled it apart he found that the customer had just twisted the insulated wires together without striping the ends first. There was no copper touching in the connections.
This truck is just one step above that.
Amazing.
The human side of this story is tragic. Thanks for being the kind of guy to help out in this situation, Eric.

Man this brought back some memories. When I was young my dad's best friend was killed while out felling trees. He was a logger and a small branch hit him in the head and even though he was wearing the proper gear, it still took his life. I grew up and went to school with his 3 kids. Knowing he's fixing up this ol truck for the daughter really shows where his priorities are in life, this is hands down my favorite episode he's ever done and I've seen them all.

Dependable
those trucks were special should have a exhaust manifold last part of part number 618, 619 left and right if so they had a larger exhaust pipe actually out flow after market headers they bring used 200. 00 pair. something to keep in mind because the crossover pipe is hard to find because it is so much larger and should have a 3 single pipe. if you ever need there is a place would have to look up name that has underhood harnesses used

A tough guy with a heart. It doesn't surprise me, I've watched how you treat the cat. It suits you Mr. O. By the way, those old dodges always had problems with those fusible links and splices. Instead of opening, the fusible links would get hot and turn into what amounted to be meg Ohm resisters and the crappy solder at splices would just crumble. I did love the old 318 and 360 engines. They were tough.

You're a good man. It pays to be kind. We lost our son in law about a year ago to an unfortunate bicycle accident, he was run over from behind leaving my daughter and two grandson behind. Keep fighting the good fight! We need more people like you and your wife. I love watching your videos, I wish I had some of the toys. err tools to diagnose like you do.

Hey Eric, a lot of wire strippers have 2 sides, a hold side and a cut side (my words.
When flipped the right way, the piece of insulation will almost pop off easily. If not the strippers grab the good part of insulation and you have to fight it a bit to get the small piece off.
Try it on your strippers.

Morning Eric, I'm glad it's not just me that blows up wiring diagrams, normally print them out on 4 sheets of A4 to make an A3 size poster. Far easier to trace wires on. Better than blowing up a screen on a lap top. Great video, more my type of work.
Regards Richard

It warms the heart to hear that you are keeping watch over the man's family. and I'm very sure the daughter will be much appreciative to get a reliable vehicle back from you.

Not triggered by crimp and seal as we use them at our shop as well, but have you had any negative experiences with the basic silver connectors and heat shrink tubing?

Eric had me fooled when he said he does not work on older cars. I thought he was a real mechanic. Just kidding. I love watching his videos along with the humor.
