I don't understand why this is so focused on diesel engines, I don't understand why anyone would want a diesel coupe now that the company car perks have gone.
Personally I think the 440i is the best of the bunch, bmw are the only manufacturer in this test that built a decent performance car in their 'normal' range (excluding M, AMG, RS varients etc.
I actually prefer the C coupe in terms of looks and comfort but their top performing car outside of the AMG range is a 280 bhp hybrid compared to the 320bhp beamer. It feels like a no brainer for anyone who want a quick car without dipping into the 'proper' performance world of AMG & M cars.

Even as a long term BMW owner, I would choose the A5. The 4 series has a really disappointing cabin. The C coupe looks nice but Mercedes did a much better job with the E and S class coupe which, especially with the E looks so much better than the C. As for the Lexus, yes superb reliability but just too bland. I really like the shape and cabin of the A5. Yes they could have tweaked the front if the car to differentiate it more from the A4, but the same could be said if the 4 series.

there's a special aspect of evaluating the appeal of these cars if someone is eastern european. Mercedes and Bmw are obligatory choices for a typical douchbagy, 'schmallspur gangster type slacker individual. eventually these brands are serving as status symbols for those desperate low-self esteem sufferers. Audi is the only refuge. not to mention its neoclassical sublime desin.

I'm a tad confused by how anyone could think the Mercedes looks the best of these three. To my eyes the rear quarter view is about the only angle from which it doesn't look horribly awkward.
The Lexus just looks like a car built by a grandma who is trying to fit in with some teenagers.
The Audi and BMW to my eyes are by far the two best looking cards of the four.

Every car has tradeoffs and that-s what makes this market amazing. With BMW you get decent reliability and fun to drive, with Audi you get great interior and decent reliability, with Lexus you get insane reliability and premium interior materials, and with Benz you get premium interior and fun to drive, but a super bland exterior and zero reliability.

The Lexus is so damn ugly that it-s immediately disqualified. I-m going MBZ or BMW for top of the food chain driving experience, design, & aesthetics. Idiots can talk about stereotypical Japanese quality, but their designs are horrid compared to Europeans & boring.

Doesn't really seem like a fair comparison- he is comparing benze with all the bells and whistles- Audi that doesn't even have quattro drive?
Nothing was mentioned about reliability and maintenance costs, which im my opinion is a major deciding factor

Drove lexus for 10 years. Last lexus was a 2013 gs 350 fsport (very fun, currently have a 2018 c43 coupe right now but I ordered a 2021 s5 Audi. Dont think the Audi has as much in your face speed but the tech is way better than mercedes.

The c class even though inside looks nice, the infotainment monitor material is very Chinese, looks cheap and very plasticky. Thr6 could e done better. The BMW and Audi uses solid glass and expensive monitors unlike Mercedes.

Why did you get the A5 S-Line and the BMW 4-Series M-Sport but you didn-t get the Lexus RC F-Sport package? It would look way better with the rims and grill just like the other 2. You are so biased towards Lexus.
