We purchased the KAROQ 1. 5L T/P 110TSI with DSG at the end of the 2020 financial year. BEST DECISION WE'VE EVER MADE. We're getting on a bit and decided that we needed our 'forever' car and decided to push the boat out and get all the bells and whistles. Another great decision. Took it on s shortish road trip and removed the centre back seat and fitted a 26l car cooler perfectly between rear seats. Plugged into 12v outlet and kept all out supplies at 2 degrees in 35 degree days which went up to 50 degrees when not parked in the shade. The tinting works to keep the car cool but the front windscreen still adds to the temperature when parked with no shade. We decided not to get the Sport Line but did get the 19- wheels. Most underrated car on the market. We made a check list of 8 different vehicles to meet our needs (primary requirement was electric front seats with 2 or 3 driver positioning) and this has it, PLUS, PLUS, PLUS even down to a small plastic clip on the drivers side front windscreen that holds your parking ticket instead of just throwing it onto the dash! It's the small things that count. The removable seats, auto park, lane assist etc. are fabulous. We set our front sensing at MAX which maintains about 20m of clear road allowing for those drivers who insist in ducking in between you and the vehicle in front without cause high blood pressure. As I say it's a brilliant and most underrated car.

I bought a Karoq 1. 5TSI DSG Edition - the car reviewed here - a month ago and would generally agree with the review. I say generally because the review does not give enough emphasis to the ergonomic failings of this otherwise first-rate car. -
One could assume the controls are set up for voice control but the voice control is truly poor, it is not possible to simply -Call Home- for example, however you pronounce -home-. The on-screen menu controls are too far away to reach from the driving seat and the touch screen has options buried that mean you have to keep taking your eyes off the road to operate it: it really should have some form of joystick control. -And it is a real nuisance having only one usb port.
The controls on the steering wheel are similarly ill judged, the cruise control is hidden out of sight on the indicator stalk behind the wheel but a control for the dashboard display is on the front of the steering wheel. This offers a form of joy stick control but the screen used is small. - A proper joystick using the main screen and an accessible cruise control would be far more preferable.
This is a really fine car in so many ways but the ergonomics, which you might not notice in a test drive, are poor.

Unfortunately the front seats don't look that comfortable, they appear rather squashed when you're in and you aren't carrying any extra pounds. As I am I have to look for comfortable driving posiitions and, I always have even when I wasn't carry anything extra. My shoulders are big and I'm 6ft 1in (185/186 cm) so a little taller. My first car was a German Ford Taunus 15M and I liked the range and space so much the next was a 17M. After that various little cars came about until I found the Nissan Primera SE 2. 0i (auto) absolutely perfect for me and my wife. No problem with height or width in the driving seat. it's a shame they aren't being produced now. There's just too many trying to compromise and squash things in.

Really great car. Not without some small annoyances. Mostly failed usability decisions made by the VW group throughout their whole range. For example, the cruise control buttons are tiny and on the indicator stalk. Every time I want to change the speed limit, I accidentally signal. Also choosing between speed limiter vs cruise control functions is hidden in a menu. And it resets each time the car is started. By default it is on cruise control, and I usually use speed limiter instead. So I need to go to menus and change it each time I start the car. In general, the car doesnt remember any setting between runs. Seat heating levels, driving modes, lane assist on/off etc get reset between each use.

Great video, however Matt left out a crucial point in his demonstration in folding the middle seat forward. What he didn-t show that in order to lift the actual middle seat up towards the centre column, the headrest needs to be removed. If you watch the part where he lifts the centre seat out of the car you-ll notice the headrest is gone, but earlier when he pushed the back of the middle seat down the headrest was firmly in place. The headrest removal for the rear left and right seats isn-t necessary as long as the front seats allows it.

On 2018 Superbs you are supposedly need to ensure you have a zip file installed, format the SD card, as the memory is held in the Columbus satnav not the card which is only used for updating then download the update. Although I went through all the procedures outlines up Skoda customer service, the file could not be transferred from my PC's hard drive to the card. I have reverted to my reliable TomTom. An alternative is to use google maps and plug that into the Columbus unit. Excellent car shame the satnav is rubbish.

Hmmm. The 'Skoda Connect/Care connect' service has me worried. Ive heard storys with older cars with the same feature that end up having their battery drained completely dead in a matter of hours or overnight because for some reason its always activated even though youre not connected to another person at the other end of the line.

Hi Mat. A quick question, boring maybe, but important to me. I'm looking at a 2nd hand karoq diesel. 1. 6tdi 2. 0tdi (both of which are 115bhp) and a 2. 0 tdi150bhp. There is no 1. 6tdi in their latest line up? Would you know why? And the 2. 0 tdi 115 bhp, why would that be tuned down as opposed the 150bhp.

Respectfully disagree on the engine size. I've have had 4 full grown men in the car with bags and it more than moves with the 1. 0 TSI 115ps. I think that the reviewer having driven high end large engine cars with plenty of horse power has missed the mark on the engine comments.

I may have this wrong but those back seats dont look like they lock in when folded in the up position, given the weight of them surely that isnt the case? if they fell when accelerating away they would damage whatever is in the boot area or any animals in the back?
