This again. Get a SUV, tall vehicle, with bigger wheels, wont's to drive like a normal car but it just does not, get lower fuel economy and you save money not to have a 4 wheel drive! Why? Why don't save money and get a Golf variant on the first place. And you will not end there, you will be saving money all the way from fuel every day and tires, and will have more fun every day. What is the downside - lower driving position. That is it. Nothing more. And if you want a true seven seater, just go and get a Sharan. Or if you just wont the tall driving, get a Touran (including more space. It has the same tall driver position, but more than enough space and the same price. I'm using only VW cars for reference, to be fair. What is my point here, get a 4Motion, don't be a cheap, or do not get SUV at all.

Thanks for the detailed review. I do agree with most of your critics. However, i do have one question to ask yoy. So what car do you recommend instead? I cant think of any alternative for tiguan. Nissan Rogue is good but the powertrain and infotainment system lacks compare to tiguan. CRV and Rav4 i personally dont think they can compete with tiguan. The only car that i can think of is volvo xc 40 but its way more expensive than tiguan. I think tiguan is still the best everyday vehicle for the price and its design. Let me know if I'm missing any other vehicle!

According to European motoring journalists, quality is assessed by seeing whether soft materials have been used to line the interior spaces and whether there's any loose plastic trim in the cabin. The car could lose a piston or two during ownership years, cost you an arm and a leg in terms of repairs, and spend more time in a garage than on the roads. It could come from pricks who aren't afraid to lie about CO2 emissions and screw you over so long as they're making a profit. But hey who cares. Soft plastics. That's what counts. Go VW.

As shown, the rear row is pretty useless, thus negating a lot of the practical reason for the longer wheelbase, yet in the US this is the only version of the Tiguan we get. And with the absence of the T-Roc in the US this is the smallest SUV VW offers (until VW introduces the unknown all new SUV that will slot under this is introduced. The hottest segemtns in the US are SUVs but VW currently only offers 2 of the 5 they make (separating the Tiguan and Tiguan Allspace) so it's like VW doesn't want to sell vehicles in the US.

I love the manual transmission. with AWD. BUT, German engineer's don't know the meaning of 3rd seat row? Y construct a cramped row in the name of 7 seats? Not with this car alone, many other 3rd row seaters too.
Interior full of Hard plastics? Monotone. Boring
Then soon after this diesel gate, all the Vw engines are now 2. 0L derivatives. B8 biturbo diesel is dead. Even in China they sell Phideon with a 3. 0L TSI. 150 ps seems inadequate for the car. at least it should be 190ps with 400nm for diesel

Just some feedback I thought I'd post -carwow. Firstly for the 5 annoying/cool features section, I preferred the usual transitions rather than the new motional transition (was hard for me to focus and gave me a slight headache. Secondly, when Mat says there's a cigarette lighter/electric volt socket, why do you/he always stick his finger directly into it? Is it safe to do so? Thank you for reading. -

I noticed in a lot of cars when they hit the high speeds on the highways, the engine sound is pretty immense, especially for guys who are driving long distances, this can have fatigue. Mercedes and BMW have introduced something called the ACOUSTIC Glass, this makes a huge difference. Does anyone know if Tiguan/Allspace has this same feature?

Volvo XC90 or Skoda Kodiaq its much better in England. But in Indonesia you've just buy a Honda CR-V Turbo, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (in England maybe use name Shogun Sport) they're typical choose from my country.

Just test drove one. The steering is not particularly sharp at all, and it is more numb than a dead horse. And the suspension is surprisingly choppy at higher speeds. Wind and tyre noise pick up above 100kph.

3: 36 my 2015 Kia Soul has this feature. But it has another regular boot light on the other side. The side with the torch is LED and the other isn't. I have diagnosed OCD and this drives me bloody mad
