This is the all-new Toyota Supra! Just cannot believe Toyota would go through all this effort to resurrect the Supra, only to disappoint greatly by putting a German engine to a Z counterpart, only to have the inferior HP.
Did some executive lose a bet? Why are they bending over for Bayerische? Is it a sick prank to the public?
Does Toyota's executive management even know why the 93-98 Supra is a legend? It's the over engineered engine that can withstand disgusting levels of boost and HP, an original Japanese engine that could actually compete with the Skylines of that era.
Build the Supra properly, with that legendary engine Block, charge any ridiculous amount of money for it and people will still be in line to buy one.
Toyota, the bar has been raised. Your Supra needs to compete or outdo the Nissan R35 GTR Nismo.
Kaizen: always strive to be better than your previous best.
Bring that damned engine back!

Carwow please dont dissapoint, start by not calling it a Supra as it is not. It's a rebadged Z4 with a different setup. Some what pointless car. I would not like to see this car in one of your famous drag shoot outs. The car it self is an insult to Toyota heritage, nothing but a marketing ploy for the modern day motoring philistine: a person who is guided by materialism and is usually disdainful of intellectual or artistic values.

For the price they-re basically asking do you want a BMW M model wrapped w/ a Toyota skin or an actual BMW M model of your preference? You might as well just get a M3 or 4 if that-s the case. More resembles the Z4 which I personally don-t like. Even the interior is a mash up of Toyota & BMW. It-s okay I guess. In that price range there-s definitely other vehicles I prefer.

Well well well.
But this is a BMW with a Toyota bagde on it. BMW is a great builder and their engines are really good, nobody can tell otherwise. But every supra enthusiasts were curious to see which Toyota/Yamaha amazing engine would have taken place under the hood of the new supra.
The answer is a bit disappointing as it is not a Toyota/Yamaha engine at all.

Heard Toyota did an extensive Quality check on this BMW engine.
Japanese are known for their reliability so they made the German go back to their drawing board.
Beyond any doubt this car is going to be success, that's what you get from Tetsuya Tada the GT86's chief engineer.

It is a nice looking BMW with a TOYOTA badge fitted.
Similar story with the Toyota GT86 and Subaru
My MK 6 Toyota Celica might look old well used and beat up. But it is a HONEST straight car. Oh and you can service it yourself without plugging it into a computer.

I always thought the '94 Supra was the rival of legends like the R34 GT-R, and RX-7. Nissan did right by doing the R35 GT-R, now this 2020 Supra I feel like has no soul of the original, looks too stubby, too much BMW influence, overall disappointing.

To small, not powerful enough, just a BMW with Toyota badges. A long way off what the other supra models were. A halo car for the brand showing what they could do. They are just letting Lexus brand do that now. -

I am amazed of this car, looks exactly like a prototype. It is extremely rare. Even Audi changes it beautiful concept cars before turning them into production cars and they managed to keep it almost untouched.

Too bad the Toyota fanboys don-t know that the return of their beloved Supra is really just a rebadged BMW #scottyrepairs. Toyota doesn-t make sports cars they pay others and just slap badges on them. So sad -
