It-s Porsche vs Porsche for our latest drag! Rolling in with a 3. 0-litre flat six turbocharged engine producing 450hp, the new 911 is one of the hottest sports cars available today! But with a price tag that-s over -30, 000 higher than the Boxster, is it worth the extra investment? Let-s find out!

What we learned. drag racing and braking distance, are crappy metrics for judging performance cars.
Seriously, these cars are mostly about driving experience, and on track performance. not drag racing, LOL. anyone can build a 10 sec drag car with cheap modding of many inexpensive used cars, big deal. but such a cheap car will drive like crap and lap a track very poorly, leaving the driver determined to never try that again.

Porsche will never put a 911 engine into its mid engine cars. They can close with the GT4 which sold for 50k above sticker if you could get one.
Porsche knows exactly how to get every dime out of its customers. Mid engine Porsche-s are great but they are not going to compromise their benchmark car! The 911 is Porsche!

It-s in a different class, so there-s no -extra money-. If it were two 911-s, say from different years, the new one costing more than the old, then the question could be asked. I get it, it-s a VS video, just can-t justify the price tag when comparing it to a car in a different class.

i've had both a 911 carrera and a boxster and can honestly say the 911 isn't really worth the extra. it's faster, but speed just isn't everything to me. i feel like the boxster looks way nicer too. just my two cents: )

-mattwatsoncars again another great video. To answer your question in a word: yes. I cannot wait for my current lease to end in may because I have the agate grey 911 4S with red interior in my head and soon to be my spot.

The 718-s in general are extremely close to the non Turbo 911-s in performance. That-s not a knock on the 911 but more of a compliment to the 718-s. Despite the questionable sound, they punch way above their weight class.

if you are supposed to start when her hands are both at the bottom you jumped the start - if you are supposed to start when she starts to move her hands down you didn't. so which is it. I drag race with lights; P

I own a Boxster S & clearly understand the performance difference but don-t think the price difference is worth it. What I would love to see is a drag race between your same Boxster and a 5. 0 Mustang!

It would be interesting to see which car takes command on a road race course. The Boxster has better weight distribution and balance, but the 911 has 4WD and more HP, so the race would be interesting.

Why did they race against the 911-S-. Why didn-t they race the Boxster against the 911? Is it because the Boxster would have beaten it. I-m certain Porsche put pressure on CarWow not to do that.
