Buying an international sports star a new car!

Mat is teaming up with England rugby legend James Haskell to help him buy a new electric car! James recently bought a Land Rover Defender 90, but now he s had a child he s realised it's not as practical as he was hoping, so he s going to sell it and swap it for an electric car! The question is, which car is right for him? Well, Mat has brought together a choice of four electric cars, and he s going to run through their looks, interiors and what they re like to drive so James can choose which is his favourite! The cars we ve got on show are a Skoda Enyaq, Nissan Ariya, Kia EV6, and Tesla Model Y, as these all cost around the same as what we would expect the Defender 90 to sell for. However, the choice doesn t stop there In case James is willing to spend a little more, we ve also brought in a Porsche Taycan & BMW iX M60! John: EVs suck and are so boring. Unless they re blistering fast. Other than that they re so bland. Can t wait until my GR Corolla get here. I m so excited then im getting a turbo s here in a few years once prices cool of a little bit. They re very overpriced atm. Even my GR Corolla was more than I really wanted to pay. I paid 700 less than MSRP of 38, 000.

They should add James as officially part of the car wow team, create a separate segment for him and mat to review cars as a duo, matt be the knowledgeable car guy, and James representing the average car enthusiast/ normal person, also representing some of the carwow viewers. I'd watch all day.

As much as i love the standard review pattern, i do enjoy him mixing it up with a guest. I enjoyed when mum was on the show but maybe this could be a regular sketch converting people to electric? Although maybe a bit more real world testing would be good
reply

Actually he's absolutely right. They're not electric cars they're battery-powered cars. If they were electric they would never run out of power as long as there is power in the grid. Think of a train or a tram, those are electric.
reply

I'm only at the beginning of this video. and I already love the interaction between those two guys!
Hopefully James comes back more often: )
Edit: Get James back! He's so much fun, and the Collin McRae Rally won me over!

Met James before and he is a top bloke with a wicked sense of humour so knew this would be a great video, the Carwow format always works when you involve other presenters for Mat to work with.
reply

You didn t say that shit right? These heavy ass bone stock cars that can t do a shit on them to be sports car! They are nothing more and less than a family cars and THATS IT!
reply

yeah but these aint the Kia family wagon EVs, there are the hypercar performance EVs. very very different. For a price of a Kia Family wagon EV i could get a used V8 sports car.
reply

Kia is a fantastic car, that would also be my pick. About the Taycan and the iX. what can we say, different league, different prices, lucky those who can afford them.
reply

Lets me real for a minute. What where the designers thinking when they decided that the electric BMW should have that ridiculously disgusting fake grill on them.
reply

James should probably try the new Model X Long Range - or even Plaid - when it becomes available in the UK. It has the space, fun doors, and speed!

Why do I get reasonably priced car vibes from this. Carwow going mainstream. Invite more celebs to feature. KSI, Tom Holland, Mich Schumacher,

This was actually a brilliant video idea. please make more videos like this when you bring ordinary people and ask their opinion about cars!

Possibly one of the best Car Wow videos ever!
