Honda Civic review: The best yet!

This is the all-new Honda Civic! The previous edition of the Civic was one of the most popular & recognisable family cars on the road. The question is, does the all-new edition offer enough to sway you away from a different family hatchback? Well, let s see what s on offer. In terms of the design, it s markedly different to the previous model, with a swooping tailgate around the rear through to an updated front with LED headlights and a new grille. On the inside, you ll be treated to a simple but well-laid-out dash. There are good quality materials throughout most of the cabin, along with physical dials to make it easy to manage climate controls. The infotainment has also been updated, although it s pretty middle of the road. Thankfully though, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard! Considering it s a family hatchback, it s still not the cheapest. The entry-level edition starts at just under 30, 000! But does it offer enough for you to still choose it over the competition? You ll have to stick with Mat and see for yourself! Ryan: In Australia, the Honda Civic is now only available in 1 trim. The range topping 47, 200AUD (which also doesn't have the full digital drivers display with no option to for it. Furthermore, last year the cheapest civic was approximately a whole 15, 000 cheaper. Absolutely insane. The greedy little hand at Honda have just lost a large portion of their lesser affluent consumer market. I will never buy a Honda for the rest of my life because of this idiotic move.

For me, as a person who cares more about feeling behind steering wheel than looks, newer Civics just went full Volkswagen.
What I mean by that, is that are just tame, plain and boring. It may be good for sales figures, but not so much for me personally.
I have very much enjoyed driving (and owning) older generations (4-7gen, aj they were light, wide, quirky cars. They were also very drivable and enjoyable on twisty roads (oh, that godly manual.
Then I bought myself a 9gen and sold it 2 months after. They hust went full Golf.
From their current offering, I would probably only consider Honda E, as number 1 purchase option for me.

750kg braked tow limit, like the corolla and many other hybrids (bar I think KIAs, but correct me if wrong. Still need a proper ICE car if you want to tow anything decent. Yes some EV will tow the weight, but range goes south big time when you tow! Try going any distance and you will spend more time charging in a random service station than you will travelling. This is something that needs work from the manufacturers otherwise you will have to keep an old ICE car just for tow duties.

I ve had a new Civic hatchback here in Canada since late 2021. Overall it s a decent car, however the interior trim squeaks and rattles like crazy - especially on the centre infotainment screen and the honeycomb grill. While it looks great inside and out, Honda have definitely cut corners on build quality. Maybe the UK version will be better. By the way, wireless Apple CarPlay is useless, laggy and keeps crashing.

The best looking civic in years. Was very close to getting one. I like the honeycomb design, especially in the from dash area. Because they have a decent recessed area behind them, I would be concerned they'll be a dust & small debris trap over time, though.
Should the head room in the rear be better in the sedan version vs this hatchback?
Overall, I really like the new Civics.

I really liked the new Civic! The way they used the 1. 5L engine to charge the electric motor while working at the optimum rpm is phenomenal. It should definitely help the economy. On top of that while doing a 0-60 i really liked that the car doesnt fake shifting but rather gives 100% until you stop pressing the throttle pedal. I wish he shared the hp the car has.

If your verdict is to shortlist a car and not go ahead and buy it, why do you end by saying something like It really is a great all-rounder without telling us what stops it from being an immediate buy? You could say something like It's a great all-rounder but a bit expensive/boring to drive/cramped (not talking about the Civic, just general weaknesses.

Matt, it has a continuously variable transmission AKA (CVT. it makes a fake gear change, and its gears are driven by a belt.
The civic made for the UK has better interior quality than the one made for the USA. for instance, you can't get lumbar support and leather/vinyl seat in the states no matter the trim level

Never been a Honda fan. Higher priced and KIA and Hyundai are giving them and Toyota a run for their (less) money. Back in the 80's and 90's Honda and Toyota were Kings because US auto makers could not make a reliable car to save their lives. Things are much different. You can keep it Matt, not impressed.

Hyundai and Kia need to give a longer warranty or people wouldn t buy them at all. I would buy a Honda Civic without a warranty over a Hyundai or Kia with a warranty. 5. 8 million recalls for serious problems like fire, engine failure or seatbelts tensioners that will explode on impact. No thanks

I have the 10th gen and much prefer it's sporty look, really disappointed with this 11th gen accountant car. Doesn't stand out at all and still no wireless android auto so wireless charging is another waste of space. Why real leather also, in this day and age!

This review was lacking something and I can't think what. But you did fail to highlight there is no lumbar support on this new Civic. Not sure why this didn't get a go right ahead and buy it verdict though. Its the best all-round in the class for me.

Such a beautiful car. Unfortunately there is no reliable diesel version I would have wished myself. Though even for a petrol car this is definetly a more likeable car than the Golf series. As a german I also would have wished a wagon version.

Stateside Toyota only gives you a 36 month warranty on everything. 5 year on power train. So stateside Honda and Toyota have the same warranty. It's different depending on where you buy the car. North America, Europe or Asia.

The childish way you're reviewing affordable cars is getting a little bit old and irritating. The throwing of stuff in and out the boot and into drinks holder's are just as un funny as the Top Gear & The Grand Tour silliness.
