New 750hp BMW XM: Everything you need to know!

Introducing the all-new BMW XM! It s the first bespoke M car to be released since 1978, and it is absolutely insane! So let s go take a closer look. For starters, there s no denying that the design is pretty polarising. Up front, there s an absolutely huge lit-up kidney grille, 22 wheels as standard on either side and some stacked exhaust pipes around the back. It also has two BMW logos engraved into the rear window, just like in the last bespoke M car - the M1, released back in 1978! In terms of performance, the XM is an absolute beast! It comes equipped with the same tried & tested 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as found in the M5. However, the XM also comes with an electric motor which means it can produce 650hp and 800Nm of torque! That s not all though - there ll be a special Red Label edition released next year which will come with 748hp & 1, 000Nm of torque! That s 24hp more than the Ferrari Purosangue! As for the interior, there aren t too many surprises to be found here. It comes with the same wraparound infotainment system as found in the iX, and the entire interior is covered in Alcantara, leather and carbon fibre. All-in-all, it looks pretty special! Brian: I think the design and the new BMW XM is way better looking than the Porsche cayenne turbo GT, especially the front grille. Absolutely hate the front end of the Porsche. Way too much blacked out area on the front end that looks terrible, like they weren t quite done with the design and just said f k it, close enough
The BMW isn t perfect for sure, maybe too boxy for some but I ultimately prefer an aggressive front end, especially on a SUV, not a wimpy one like the Cayenne

I have had a BMW as my primary driver for the last 25 years, and have 3 in the driveway right now. My future with the brand is not looking great. I assume Matt is parroting a lot of BMW lingo but these reviews are all about the 'est'. It's the larg'est', wid'est', heavi'est', most powerful 'est', slow'est'. In the realm of these uber luxo rockets this would probably be 4-5th on my list. Just not a lot to love even from a BMW purist.

Be honest, it s looking much better than the concept. Those who refer themselves as car enthusiasts think their options matter, the the truth is majority of them wouldn t to able to afford a car like this and they are just full of themselves. Rich people would buy those cars nonetheless and enjoy them on the road, while car enthusiasts keep complaining in their probably 10-15 year old MANUAL civic with MODIFIED EXHAUST

I'll be honest, it's intimidating, which might be a good selling point, and it looks a lot better than the concept, still ugly but better, and why didn't they design pop out handles or something similar to the concept, would've been a lot cleaner hiding the handles in the body line. And why label red, just call it Competition like it's always been, no need to change the naming convention smfh

I hope people will stop buying these recent hideous BMWs so that it will start to hurt their coffer. I hope by not indulging BMW in their current so called design language by reducing their sales significantly that they will finally get the memo. I hope I m not the outlier when it comes to hating the look of their current batch of horrendous over stylized cars.

Would have to pay me to get in it!
What a f. gly beast that is - horrible.
Doesn't matter how impressive the spec or performance are, a truck has to look good or at least 'respectable enough to sit outside the house'.
Dear God, what a horrible thing!
What's wrong with them? !
I think it was designed to help Lego make a replica toy of it!

I think it actually looks pretty good in a sober color like black (the blue and gold launch spec is ridiculous imo. But whether or not it's a compelling car will depend on the driving dynamics. Will it have sports car wizardry like the Cayenne? Or will it just be a heavy brute like a G63? And regardless, it's sacrilegious to celebrate M with an SUV.

We're not far of of having to need a lorry driver's license to drive these SUV's. It's getting ridiculous both is size and weight. I really hope they do not change the law to accommodate these SUV's, so it will hopefully put a stop to the growth of these monstrosities on our public roads. And tax the shit out of them by weight.

The Ferrari chads with their NA v12 vs the BMW virgins with a TT V8 hybrid and almost 3 tonnes of weight making roughly the same power. The interior is nice but the car overll is quite disappointing. Its maybe too much to ask but a light weight special M coupe would have been such a huge success.

So Audi offers the R8 & E-Tron GT, Merc has the AMG GT & One, BMW give us a Hybrid SUV.
This from the brand who's main USP is class-leading driving dynamics has produced the least-dynamic offering for their flagship product.
At this point i'll take a stripped down V12 M8 special edition.

Well this is just another BMW that I can laugh at when I see it on the road, it's not as bad as the ix, but my God is it a weird looking vehicle. The back of this car is not good, especially the rear window and how it connects to the roof, furthermore adding 2 logos on the rear window?

Lights, we need more lights in the interior. Lines, we need more lines on the exterior. We need more grills. oh and more lines and lights because it's not flashy enough. They lost their phuckn minds. What an ugly piece of crap to empty your wallet. I once loved this brand, dumb me.

Citroen has a car also called XM from 1989-2000. It's weard that the name is exactly the same even thought the same Citroen was sold new little over 20 years ago. I think there has to be a rule about different car manufacturers not being allowed to give their cars the same name.

How is it legal to suddenly make all these new cars so damn heavy. Surely in an accident the devastation will be so much greater especially if this thing hits a mini or something. It s mad. So make cars electric much faster and twice as heavy. Yeah that makes perfect sense.

I feel like the interior is rly nice other than the roof. The 3d effect in the recessed roof is cool with the lighting and all, but at this price it should be a retractable cover for a full length sunroof in that space so u can have the lighted 3d effect and a sunroof.
