It s time for an almighty Germany vs. China electric car showdown! We ve got our hands on the Human Horizons HiPhi Z & HiPhi X, and they re going up against the Porsche Taycan GTS and BMW iX M60! The question is, which is the quickest? Well, let s take a look at the stats. Starting with the HiPhi Z, it comes equipped with two electric motors that can put down 672hp and 820Nm. All that power means it s pretty heavy, mind, coming in at 2, 539kg, and it costs around 90, 000. Alongside it we have the Porsche Taycan GTS. It also comes with two electric motors, but it s down on power compared to the HiPhi, able to produce 598hp and 850Nm of torque. It s the lightest car here, at 2, 310kg, but it s also more expensive than the HiPhi Z, coming in at around 111, 000. Then we get to the SUVs. Starting with the HiPhi X, it comes with two electric motors that can produce 598hp and 820Nm. It tips the scales at 2, 580kg, and it has a price tag of around 93, 000. Then finally we come to the BMW iX M60. It s the heaviest car here (just) at 2, 584kg, but it also has a boatload of power, with its two electric motors producing 619hp and 1, 100Nm! But not only is it the heaviest, it s also the most expensive, costing around 123, 000!

What is point of having fastest car? No one is going to drive more that 60 km/h inside city. And for big roads, maximum is going to be 120km/h at max. No one in mind will drive faster with SUV/Crossover. Physics is still there. For the case of Taycan, that one is not even SUV/Crossover. What that is doing there, is another question. What is really important is - Safety, Comfort, Reliability and Consumption.

Order of crossing the line in the brake test:
1- Mat, by more than half a car length in front of the others
2- Nick, a little ahead of Rory
3- Rory, with the whole front of the Porsche ahead of Sam
4- Sam, behind everyone else
With this discrepancy it's impossible to get any credible results or conclusions as to which one brakes better.

There all the same Electric Motors and Batteries. Who ever makes the lightest EV wins. This is why we don't like EVs. It's all the same motors with a different Badge.
EVs will Bankrupt the Biggest Manufacturers World Wide. VW, Mercedes, Audi, BMW, wont be able to Match Chinese Labour and Production Costs on these cheap Electric Motors and Batteries.

As China bans Teslas for being able to espionage without them being able to profit from it, no one should ever buy Chinese cars anymore, because they damn well will transmit everything you say, listen to, where you're going and with whom back to Ji Xinpings elephant ears.

10: 10 it's not physics lying, it's probably Chinese BEVs overheating their e-motors way earlier and degrading their power output. Well, well, well. don't believe numbers. Could you guys add some OBDs and Car Scanner? Would be a great addition to see live power output.

I m glad Sam said something, I thought I was the only person that thinks these EV drag races are unbelievably boring.
It s like watching the saddest fathers racing home, after the school run because that s the most fun they re going to have all day.

If the speed limiter was artificial and was removed out of the equation matt would ve easily won the rolling race. Really impressive for the Chinese to just come onto the scene and win the brake test, especially with the heavier cars.

German car's have cheat mode but after 10 km the battery is dead, i have some friends who drove German VW and BMW for a half year and get rid of it buying a Tesla afterwards it's cheaper and charging is cheaper to
reply

They missed the entire exciting point that a no name Chinese company is hanging with Porsche and BMW in a serious way. Only difference seemed to be a speed limiter. Video missed the amazing result.

comparing electric cars is quite pointless, the design of electric motors is pretty much the same, architecture is pretty much the same. Far less variables in electric cars than combustion ones.
reply

All electric drag races are boring Sam.
No one cared at the FOS for electric, but when the 1971 mustang Mach 1 race car came up the hill, you could hear the buzz, coming up the crowd.

If you keep in mind the low salarys and production costs in china than the difference between the german and chinese cars in price isnt that big. The chinese one should be much cheaper
reply

You can really tell BMW want to appeal to the Chinese market. Their design language is basically the same as the Chinese cars. Angular, harsh on the eye, and a bit tacky looking.
reply

Watch out with the Chinese cars. IE. in the Netherlands i am not allowed by my employer to drive a chinese car for work because of data issues (sending all data to China)
reply

Did you know that back in the mafia/mobster era in America, they purchased cars solely on the basis of how many bodies they could fit in the boot/trunk?
reply

What if you guys did a drag race between hypercars. based on their motorisation? For example, old school internal combustion vs. hybrid vs. full electric
reply

The hiphi is not extremely popular car in china maybe next time try to use the BYD Han or the zeekr 001 for the small cars and suv yangwang u8
reply

All of those electric cars will win become as soon as you put your on the pedal you will have instant power and I really like electric car's.
reply

Boring, degenerate, soul destroying, government driven, WEF driven electric cars. GFY! switching off NOT interested in watching this filth!
reply

Not bad tho for the chinese. I mean in our stereotype, their products are not very good and wont able to compete with well known german brands
