Imagine we lived in a world where all cars were EVs, and then along comes a new invention, the Internal Combustion Engine! Think how well they would sell: A vehicle half the weight, half the price that will almost quarter the damage done to the road.
A vehicle that can be refuelled in 1/10th of the time and has a range of up to 4 times the distance in all weather conditions. It does not rely on the environmentally damaging use of non-renewable rare earth elements to power it, and use far less steel and other materials.
Just think how excited people would be for such technology, it would sell like hot cakes!

That steering wheel is horrific and would literally be a deal breaker for me I had a VW that had one shaped pretty much like that and, while it looks great in the laboratory, the shape means that when you relax your hand position on long drives, you tend to rest the pad of the base of your thumb on the oval point of the rim and it cuts off circulation after a while. It’s designed for the shape between your index and thumb but, apart from shop window dummies, nobody holds their hand like that.

I have testdriven this car 1 hour. I wanted to return it after the second turn. It is half, maybe 2/3 developed. I agree with everything plus the MKBHD Video. I wanted to like this car so bad but its unbelievably bad. The whole drivetrain application is unfinished. Throttle pedal calibration is awefull. Holy crap I still can't believe how this car even got a homologation in europe. It is lacking key safety features and has known regen braking issues (which also happend to me)

The sound of that combustion car was wonderful, and it was saying to me. you're alive. Electric cars sound like death. The system wants us to buy electric cars not because they want to save the planet, that is an excuse good for sleepy people. they want to enslave us, the technology (read digital, has the purpose to make us slaves, ready to do what the system asks for. No sound. death. Thumb down for all the electric cars. Thumb down for a fully digital world.

I don’t know if it’s just the colour choice, but the interior looks very cheap’. Not helped by that bargain bin tiny screen stuck onto the dash’ in place of an actual instrument cluster, and that horrible/afterthought looking main screen. Really, what tuned me off about the Tesla was the lack of physical controls, and this looks even worse. I like all the features but interior ambiance/perceived quality seems rather lacklustre

Watching EV car reviews. If it was not for Teslas, there is no way I would buy one. Tesla made a car that was desigined around the software. All other cars seem to be made, then the software added afterwards, to make it work. Then Teslas, give you a way to charge them. Other cars just don't care, and your left with third party charging networks, to rip you off, at double the price of the Tesla supercharger network.

MKBHD: There’s no way you can see how much solar charging gives. And yet here we are with a bloody great big display that shows how much solar panel is charging. And the reason it says zero on the lifetime charge is the same as why it says 500 boosts remaining on a press car (and the sensors are all playing up) it’s been reset, updated or is broken.

Think the lane departure thing is an incoming legislation change isn’t it I had a seat arona (don’t) as a temporary work car and the lane departure issue was the same on that and was told all cars for the EU and UK market would soon have to be like that I. e have to turn it off each time you start the car if you don’t want it. So annoying

That 500 boost limit thing is silly. Counting it, and perhaps things like hours used, time at full throttle, average speed. such info would be nice to know perhaps for a future owner. Everyone can make up their own mind on what they want to do with their car, or what car they want to buy 2nd hand.

I still love the idea of solar panels on your EV! Sure: it's mostly symbolic but who knows In the last 5 years capacity has nearly doubled and the motors and batteries are getting more efficient too. Maybe in 10 years or so it will actually add a significant percentage to the range.

It's called a HEAD UP display Matt, not a HEADS UP as you always call it. It's called that because the drivers head can stay up, so unless the driver has 2 heads then it's definitely not heads plural. Slightly embarrassing for a motoring journalist such as yourself to not know that.

Don’t worry about missing internal combustionit’s not going anywhere soon. Once mandates (from bankers, go look it up) fail then leckie sales will fall right off. We might get there later with decent batteries and safer onesbut not for quite a while yet is my guess

The lane warning settings, etc. resetting every time you restart the car are a running theme with all of these EVs. I wonder if there's some kind of rule that specific safety features need to be on when you start the car. Pretty annoying if that is the case.

some nice touches but also lots of faults on these, mainly really poor software that clearly isn't ready also I'm not sure why Matt didn't mention how bad the rear controls were, when he was pressing them they weren't responding

EVs are ridiculous, imagine a petrol car where the fuel tank shrinks every time you drive it. What a con. Unfortunately all the safety stuff being on is pretty much universal over all cars because of nanny state BS.

Loud equals slow. I have a serious aversion to any combustion engine exhaust noise. Any noise of that type, any vehicle or tool, gives me major bad feelings of many kinds: hatred, disgust, anger, sadness, etc.

when considering any car first thing is spare parts availability and maintenance. if such are not available then it should be out of sight. this is why tesla still edges other evs though it may not be better

What a dreadful car, why would they offer CarWow to test such a gremlin ridden / unfinished car. Fisher has been around for a long time but always fizzles out in the end. Waste of time.
