However, now he’s had the chance to drive it several times, he’s wondering if he was wrong when he gave his last verdict! To put it to the test, we’ve brought together its key competitors - the RS7 Performance and Mercedes-AMG GT 63. So of course, given how powerful these machines are, we need to look at the stats! The BMW M5 is powered by a 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor, which combine to produce 727hp and 1000Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, weighing a colossal 2, 435kg! The RS7 is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this creates 630hp and 850Nm. My. 2 car garage is simple. Daily and fun. My daily is a BMW 530D X Drive, a superb if temperamental car and though I would appreciate the extra horses of a the M5 99% of the time the 530D is more than enough. My second car is a Mercedes AMG GT R which adds the horses when I want them and is perfect for road trips, track days, Ring trips and the old Sunday drive. I have come the conclusion that no car fits all purposes and though big powerful saloon cars are great, they are no better than a nice smooth 6 cylinder diesel most of the time and I don't see value in spending another 60K to get that 1% more power when I need it.

M5 has always been step ahead in the speed section for generations as it should be, but trick BMW always had under the sleeve was that m5 behaved like m3. It felt light and rapid, but as time goes on, BMW will eventually lose a pure driving machine title, if not already. American way that only straight line decides which car is better is hopelessly wrong and seems bmw is heading that way. Shame. Welcome to americation of history's greatest lone of sedans

Man y all compared and hybrid to non hybrids, u should have brought a gt63 s e performance to make it an actual comparison, and plus that the gt63 wasn t even a newer version, it was oldest car, ofc the bmw gonna be better if y all can t get a fair comparison, BRING THE S E PERFORMANCE TO FINALLY AND THIS DEBATE AND TO GIVE BMW KIDS A REALITY CHECK (i luv bmw, but y all are just to much, just stfu)

I drive the current S3. Audi got sooooo much better in terms of handling. Dynamic Plus mode and you have a true drivers car. The driving assistance also isn't nearly as intrusive as on others in the different modes.
To the video, I don't think its fair to compare AMG GT to a 5er BMW and RS7 Audi. The E63 is the direct competitor.

Audi fastest, best sound. Most confort. BMW larger engine electric lies about power (less reliable engine) and still not making considerable advantage. Audi and Mercedes muuuutch better looking, especially the Audi. BMW suspension is rubbish. BMW seats are most uncomfortable.

I dont care if the M5 can beat a Buggati and the AMG had 1100hp stock. RS7 for life. the car is and always be a gem. a monster. a super luxury car. and sports car in one. RS7 everytime. respect for the other 2 they are great. but the RS7 to me has a unique vibe.

I was skeptical at first of the TikTok video that pointed this out. I thought Matt just changed his mind after the internet started liking the new M5, but just watching this video something seemed off. It looked more like a promo video than a re-review.

Of course the BMW win because the hybrid system. But in the look side definitely a big lose to it.
BUT. Isn't the comparison should be between this ugly BMW with the AMG E-series and the RS5 or 4! Because these all in the same category.

The Audi wins purely on looks (inside and out) and at this price point that is vital.

These are not equal cars at all, you are taking the most powerful BMW model and comparing it to the less powerful versions of other brands, which is not honest. Instead of the GT63 S, you should have taken the GT63 E performance version

3 cars from the same segment broadly equivalent cost and the BMW dominates like it does in every segment. if BMW made a car equivalent cost to the grandad taxi Mercedes SE performance it would smash that as wellreality kids

Haters gonna hate the new M5 looks brutal, is faster than competitors and is good value for money (better than others these times. I have the new 550 which has the B58 6 cyl. (With hybrid System) and I absolutely love it

For a correct and more importantly fair comparison you should have compared the AMG GT 63 S E-Performance (4 door) and not the AMG GT63 carwow ; by failing or not doing so I think you would be tarnishing your own reputation.

BMW 5s is considered worth it if we have money to buy an RR but buy a 5s instead. I'll just buy a house with every single tools to work on cars, build a track cars, while daily drive a Wagon/MPV

As a BMW fan, you can clearly tell the RS7 is the better car here. Who wants a sliding 2. 5 ton hybrid
The Audi seemed much more planted and versatile.
Hopefully BMW can save the M5.

They M5 is like a bodybuilder. Many women dislike the look of a bodybuilder, but they always have a hot girl. The bulky M5 doesn't charm many dudes, but the few it charms are solid.
