I used to hate the PT till my Honda got wrecked and had to drive my moms Turbo PT. That car was so wrong in so many perfect ways that it actually made me love that thing. Way too much power on way to crappy suspension create this feeling of constantly like a makeshift go kart at all speeds. It made the highway entry ramp feel like a race track lol.

I've always wanted a PT-GT. I want to turn it into a retro-surf-wagon concept twisty-road thing. Bags or stiff, low coilovers, big turbo upgrade, a few of those wood panel (decal) doors, a matte seafoam-green paintjob, roof rack with a board. I always thought it would be a great car in the end. The GT Cruiser wasn't as terrible as its base-model dad.

8: 38 Designating this as a truck was the REAL REASON it made production: PT's low fuel consumption allowed Chrysler to sell more Ram trucks without violating fleet average fuel economy laws. GM figured this out and that's why they made such a shameless copy in the HHR.

Got one as my first car as a hand me down from my grandparents, had 120k on it, after driving it for a week the transmission fell apart and the front left brake fell apart too. needless to say it was better to trade it in for my now mazda 3 i sport lol

I'm a big guy, 6'4 and over weight, and I loved my PT Cruiser. It was so damn roomy. I've driven mostly SUVs and trucks, but the Cruiser had more headroom than any other vehicle I've ever driven. Who cares if it looks a hearse for a child

I used to work for a car rental location and these were TRASH. I used to constantly see thrm breaking down with like 5k miles. Equally trash was the Sebring. Had one break down right off the truck from the factory.

It's funny how James didn't mentioned how horribly bad mechanically those cars were, I had a 2004 PT Cruiser GT, worse car I ever owned. I wonder how much Chrylser Paid James to talk nice about the PT Cruiser.

And now most of those million-plus PT Cruisers have either been recycled into Toyotas or are patiently awaiting their end in a you-pull-it yard somewhere near you.

The Street Cruiser Series were available in Route 66, Sunset Boulevard, and Pacific Coast Highway. The yellow Route 66 Model was probably the only cool one.
