The Chevy Blazer was built to do one thing, and one thing only: tear it up With the rise of Sport Utility Vehicles like the International Scout and Ford Bronco, Chevy needed their own off-road brawler. Enter the Chevy Blazer. Join James as he breaks down the history of one of Chevys longest running models. From the K5 to the Typhoon, this is everything Blazer

Owned a 97 & 04 S10 Blazers (Eaton G80 rear diffs stock, upgraded spring packs/shocks/mild torsion crank for a 3/4 front lift, with ZERO effect on ball joints/suspension/control arm wear, no keys, just a crank on the 2 bolts. No complaints. Jumped it, took it odd road everywhere (snowmobile/atv trails included. Bullet proof engine, CHEAP AS HELL PARTS because of the astros/jimmies/safaries, easy as shit to work on (worst thing was cold chiseling the OEM ball joints rivets to bolt on the new ones, but really not a big deal at all. Not a mechanic myself, but with the haynes manual, I could do EVERYTHING in my laneway, never took either too a mechanic ONCE. Sold the 4 dr 97 with over 350 000kms on it (100, 000 kms on logging roads in Northern Ontario, with no issues to be found. And unfortunately the 04 got written off by an idiot. The 04 had a lower gear ratio, and 2 drs, and was actually more fun with the shorter wheel base, drove it coast to coast, dogs loved it, folding seats made it great, towed my boat no problem, they were a great lil SUV. Still wish I had it. Mind you I have an 07 FJ Cruiser now, and, well, it's a tank, but also it's a silly vehicle for my general use case at this point in my life, and drinks fuel like I drink beer (A LOT. Also the 07 FJ was over double the price with 150 000kms on it, and the 04 Blazer was better for it's ability to actually fit places. Plus I paid under half the price, with 50, 000kms, and 6 months left on the warranty. SOOOO. Still rather my blazer.

So much wrong with the facts in this video like most of your videos. The S10 Blazer came out in 1983 not 1992 and was built until 2004. The full-size Blazer was built until 1994 before Chevy changed its name to Tahoe in 1995. I can appreciate Donut Media wanting to make videos like this but I dont think Ive seen one that didnt have several incorrect facts in it. Whoever does the research and writes the scripts needs to do a better job verifying the data that you present.

Thank god this video came out before the new butt sludge Chevy has decided to call a Blazer. Maybe the new Blazer is a fine vehicle, I don't know, but it's no frickin Blazer at all. And I know, I've had two K5's, a '94 S Blazer(only year they called it the S Blazer instead of S10 Blazer, a '97 S10, and my brother still has his '89 S10 Blazer that my dad bought brand new for him when he was 16. It doesn't run, but we're going to fix that.

Not bad. He did get some stuff wrong though. The military blazer came out in 1984 and the only reason it was slower was cause all of them had 6 2 diesels vs 350 v8s in the civilian models (yes, I know you could get a civilian 6. 2) and the s10 blazer came out in 1982 not 1992 and there was also the 4. 3 v6 available starting 1985. Also the full size blazer wasnt discontinued until 1995. And the 4 door s10 blazer came out in 1991.

Yeah too bad Chevy really screwed up the model that just came out not even a Blazer the front end looks like a Camaro the roofline looks like a Range Rover and the sides all look like an RX330 that was stolen from A lexus and 50, 000 they must be smoking crack of the things going to pay that much money for a domestic piece of s I can easily go buy a Lexus RX used for less than 50 Grand and it would be built better and last longer

K5 Blazers were superb vehicles. S10 Blazers and Trailblazers are pieces of crap. I own a 2001 Blazer. It's had more problems than any other vehicle I've ever owned. 2 Radiators, water pump, 2 starters, 2 MAF, all O2 sensors replaced twice all within in 50k miles. Also it has two oil leaks. And the suspension is garbage. Would not recommend. Get a 4Runner instead.

I've had my 2000 Blazr2 since 2002. Sunroof, AutoTrac, original spare, Bose with 6 disc changer in the console, ect. It has 158k miles. I've changed the battery, alternator, starter, intake mani gasket, fuel pump ( several times) fuel filter, a/c with hoses and the remote oil filter block. Is fun to drive and I've taken care of it. It is stone stock, Indigo Blue

Drive the piss outta it 4. See how long transfer case an differentials hold up before exploding 5. Fix and repeat

Awesome show but I'm a die hard S10 blazer fan boy I have a 1988 with the 4. 3 TBI that you glossed over the Baja edition bad ass trim line, Serengeti edition and the later ZR2. You jumped to 1991 please update this to include the 2019 model that got relaunched

I want a first-gen Blazer SO bad I used to have a rare stick ZR2 Blazer, but the early Blazer has always been just the coolest to me. I'd have mine with a newer LS 5. 3, a Tremec, and 44/60 axles. I need a garage.
