Anadarko, Oklahoma in the early 1980s was the Indian (Native American) Capital of the World and had the feel of a lawless, old west territory. About 50 mi. North was Wetherby, a college town where my girlfriend DonnaBaby (very hot) lived. In between was a desolate two lane highway which I flew down each weekend to see my girl. I drove a 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a 455 cu. in. V-8. Now, bear in mind in those days even though the speed limit was 55 mph everybody did 100 mph due to the flat, flat landscape which provided line of sight into the horizon. The highways were for the most part straight as an arrow. Occasionally there would be a slight rise in the road just high enough to hide the view of an oncoming vehicle. So, on a Friday night I was screaming down the highway to see my hot girlfriend doing about 110 mph when the weight of the Oldsmobile lifted going over one of those rises in the road. There hadnt been another soul on the highway but sure enough a car traveling the opposite direction also doing about 110 mph flew past. My minds eye saw for just a millisecond the image of a big ol star on the door of an Oklahoma State Patrol car. I looked up at my rear view mirror to see all four tires of the cop car locked up and billowing blue smoke from out the fender wells. My first thought was He has to slow his car from 110 mph, turn around and then surpass my speed to catch me and the whole time Im going 110 mph the other way. After a brief hesitation. I floored it. The monster 455 V-8 launched forward in passing gear. I passed 120, 130, 135 and pegged the needle off the stop bar on the speedometer. I did 140 mph for about a mile looking for some place to hide. I saw a cattle field with a large barn approaching on my right. Nosing the car down but carefully avoiding laying black tire marks on the pavement I stopped then reversed back to the gate. I jumped out, opened the gate, drove the car through, closed the gate and rolled the big two door behind the barn. I shut off the engine and waited. Yes, my hands were shaking a little bit from the adrenaline. Shortly, I heard the trooper roar by and past the barn. I stayed put for 30 seconds by my watch then quietly rolled the big American V-8 onto the highway the opposite direction before rerouting along the backroads to see my girl. I had a great time living in Oklahoma

I have been pretty lucky with speeding tickets, I have talked my way out of 2 in the past few years. The first happened as a student, on the highway going 20km/hr over the speed limit, I explained I was late for school so he let me go. And the second one, I was on my way to volunteer on the construction of a new skatepark. which was sponsored by the police. He wrote the ticket, and as he was walking back I remembered that it was sponsored by the police, so he let me go

My biggest ticket and only ticket I ever got was 588 for excessive speed and reckless driving, I was 16 and only had my license for 2 weeks, I was on a toll road in Polk county at 11pm at night late for curfew. I was clocked going 117 Mph in a 65mph zone in a 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the only reason I was not arrested. Was because I pulled over for the officer and told him I screwed up and it was my fault

My question is what do the police do when they run into something like a Bugatti chiron that has committed a crime granted I don't know what crime you would be committing if you have enough money for a Bugatti chiron cars that go like three hundred miles an hour sure they drain their fuel fast but they can out speed a helicopter and then what do they just get away?

I wonder if cops have to give less speeding tickets these days since so many people have those Explorers? I can never speed anymore because there is literally always one of these behind me somewhere, and we've all seen they have the lights in the grill now. Anyone who drives a black or white Ford Explorer now adays is an asshole

yeah in the EU and UK we use highly visible stickers basically. however on our motorways in the UK we do have unmarked police cars which are usually just black with hidden lights and sirens. Which makes them terrifying when they zip past in excess of 80mph at night with only red and blue lights being visible in the mirrors.

Biggest ticket I ever got 600. I was doing 101 mph on hwy 101 (ironically enough) on my Harley according to the cop, but he was gracious enough to write in 99 mph on the ticket (otherwise he would have had to write me up for reckless driving and couldve put me in cuffs according to the state of California)

I think there was a concept for a police car in the early 2010s that ultimately lost out to the Ford Taurus. I saw it in NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 - I recall it being called the Carbon Motors E7. That aside, I do see more Tauruses than Crown Vics, as well as the Chargers that are usually on highway patrol.

We had Porsche cruisers back in the day here in the Netherlands. Then later the police bought the Volkswagen Touran (which is one of the ugliest cars ever produced) And now they're buying Mercedes and Audi cruisers again. It goes from good car to shit car to good car all the time.
