13: 00 Sloped back or fastback cars and hatchback sedans have been around since the 1948 Tucker Torpedo and earlier than that. and then there was the 1965 AMC Marlin, and the 1966 Dodge Charger, then was the Lamborghini Espada(I think. Porsche actually stole designs that I had made in a sketchbook back in the late 1990s where I modified a mid 90s Ford Taurus sedan by sloping the roof and rear window back towards the rear bumper in a slight curve instead of having the regular flat trunk. and gave the profile a slightly more aggressive stance. I was literally calling it a 4 door Posrche and wanted to market the idea to them somehow, but I was like 19 years old, clueless and uneducated with no connections whatsoever. So they sent a spybot to steal my ideas, but mine was gonna run off a Porsche Boxer 6 taken from the biggest baddest 911 of the time. Is anybody still reading this? Tell the people It's a true story

TOO MUCH TALK RE IMPRESSING OTHERS. Cmon, you needed 2-3 minutes on driving in corners, the sound of the v6 vs v8, running costs such as the air suspension components. More depth, and one comment about how you look to others is enough. Insecure and shallow people should not be encouraged to further those traits.

Are both the old and the new Panameras AWD? Did Doug not mention that or am I having a false memory. I could've sworn these were like all wheel drive when they were introduced. that is a heck of a good selling point to people who live in the north. These are very popular or envied by Iowans if I recall.

And yet a better bargain is the Jaguar XJ Supercharged. As Doug has mentioned in his video from about three years ago. And as Doug points out in that video, it looks better and drives better than a panamera, also it is cheaper, has more horsepower and no blank switches: )

I'm considering a first gen Panamera myself. Are Porsche's V6 and V8s as reliable as their flat-6 engines? I don't really mind paying more for Porsche's maintenance, but will 2000 a year be enough? I don't do track days, but I drive spiritedly once in a blue moon.

Yes Doug, I'm really pissed about the center of the steering wheelOn the off case that I hit something, I'd rather a nice looking metal or wood circle smack me on the face when the airbag comes out instead of that plebeian cheap soft plastic.

You're not right about steering wheel plastic, Doug. Federal regulation forbids the use of harder materials on steering wheel right in front of the airbag, to reduce the ammount of trauma it can cause during activation.

It'll spend a boat load of time in the repair shop and you'll begin to hate life with all of the money you're throwing away to keep it on the road. How do I know this? I owned one, and it turned into a money pit.

Nailed this one. Really dont care what people think about what Im driving personally. Under 30k for a Porsche with their reliability? U can even get it precertified with a 2 year warranty included. Serious value

That v6 was garbage and these early models were nightmares. Not reliable and the pdk is not cheap to fix. Pdk needs tlc or will be trash. Under 30k yet two years owning it used will cost you another 30k plus
