Preference for sedans is/was very much a N. American thing, from my experience visiting the US many times. Here in Europe hatchbacks are way more common than sedans. At least prior to the surge in popularity (cross-Atlantic) for SUV-type vehicles, they were. I prefer sedans myself - they look cooler, imo! But, hatchbacks are definitely more practical.

This is not the Optima's replacement, as many people think. It's the fifth generation Optima. KIA has been using the K5 name in South Korea for years before this redesign, and they probably wanted this to be a global vehicle (sold all over the world as the same model, so they changed the name to K5.

Those sounds of nature are utterly ridiculous. Why would I want to listen to rain while driving in sunshine? Or maybe I should listen to artificial rain while driving in real rain?
Anyway, the rainy day sounds more like a toilet, so it would probably make the driver want to go to the toilet.

To be fair, its only a name change in the US. In Korea and other international markets, the Optima has been called the K5 for years. It seems like they are simply saving money on multiple naming materials for the same product.

It s not a bad looking car, but I definitely wouldn t go so far as to say it s the coolest looking one. Seems kinda on par with ones like the Camry, the new Sonata, some of the Mazda lineup. Key word there being m: on par.

The pull sigh apart, that is the best wireless charger set up I've seen in a car. Just hope your phone fits. Far better than the wireless charging trays in most cars. As they seem to slide off one you set off.

They just look like hatchbacks; why not make them actually hatchbacks? I really miss that option in midsized cars. You can't get anything practical anymore unless you want a SUV or a small car.

If you're gonna make your car resemble a hatchback, then sure it's more practical to just make it a hatchback. You know, so that you can actually have decent trunk access.

I'm surprised Doug didn't highlight the air filter in the engine bay. I don't think I've ever seen an air filter that's so incredibly easy to remove and install.

it very much resembles the peugeot 508 but i have to say they nailed the design, it doesn't look like a copycat. it's a unique cool car nevertheless.
