Alfa Romeo RZ review! The Alfa Romeo SZ and RZ are two of the strangest sports cars of the 1990s. Today I'm reviewing the Alfa RZ (the convertible version of the Alfa SZ) and I'll show you the quirks and features of the Alfa RZ/SZ. I'm also going to drive the Alfa Romeo RZ and show you what it's like behind the wheel of this odd car. Joey: Alfa s and Italian cars (also French) are quirky because their target buyers buy cars for their style. It s more about art than cool factor. Find a few European fashion shows of the era. Cars like this are accessories for those who own them. It draws attention. You drive it to your cafe for your espresso or gelato. Check out some of the fiat sports cars of the same era. BMW even got into the mix with the Z1.

It certainly wasn't out of the blue for Alfa Romeo design. The Alfa 75 predates it, for example, the Alfa 155 came a bit later they certainly were into boxy designs back then. But also, because you keep bringing up them switching around Zagato and Alfa, because Zagato was known for its design. Alfa Romeo has built some of the most beautiful sports cars before and after this era. They were never known to be the most reliable but just take a look at an Alfa Romeo 33, the old Alfa Romeo Giulia GT (well, and the new Giulia as well, really) etc. They didn't need to go to Zagato for the design. Well, they maybe _should've_ actually consulted someone that _wasn't_ involved in their design of the era.

This car graced the front of all the car magazines when it came out for months.
It was gorgeous then and it is gorgeous now.
Name one timeless design that has lasted that long?
Better than the Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin or Lamborghini from 30years ago.
Great video thanks

Not the first time Alfa did the old switcheroo. They once let Nissan design a car and then they build it, while it should have been the other way around. Because back then it was 70s Japanese design with Italian build quality. It was awful on all levels

Imagine u have a fight or in a bad mood and went on a top down ride in that Alfa then it starts raining and doing all that procedure to put roof up in rain under a overpass or in parking lot and thinking what a miserable life it is

Beeing very hard on the Doug score here.
Styling 4/10?
Acc 2/10?
Lancia Delta: 0-100 in 5. 7 5/10 score
Alfa Romeo RZ 0-100 6. 9 2/10 score
So 5. 7 seconds is average, but 6. 9 is almost the worst it can be?

It is as if during the clay design, someone hit this car with an ugly stick and didn't stop until the stick broke in half. And then they continued hitting with two short ugly sticks until the ugly stick wielders died of old age.

I strongly dislike the addition of all these new ads supporting big capital and big gay leftism(as if there s a difference. Stop it. Stop the shilling for massive liberal capitalist corrupt corporations

I actually kind of like the way that this one looks. It looks very muscular. The only thing that makes you look bad is the wheels with offsets like that. Make it flush and it will look really nice.

Doug should have mentioned this car is completely glued together. It's build of the Alfa Romeo 75, or Milano in the states. Legendary 50/50 weight with transaxle placing the transmission in the rear.
