-Does Evo X share a Chassis with the Lancer? : NO. 80% of the interior is the same, the Evo is made to resemble a Lancer to get more Lancer sales, but the ENTIRE chassis is different, the whole car is wider, made of a stronger steel for rally rather than road, the floor pan is made for AWD, and the car is extensively reinforced and welded as Mitsubishi sold many Evo X RS's directly to Group N Rally teams since Mitsubishi no longer competed themselves.
-Is the 5 speed trans Old or Outdated? : NO. This was a completely redesigned transmission in 2007, the goal was to have the most robust transmission possible, and they succeeded. They needed the extra room to beef up the gears as much as possible, and they also knew that racers don't want a 6 speed as overdrive gears are for fuel economy, not going fast. This is also one of the best feeling transmissions ever made on any front based design. You hear of Subarus glass 5 speed, but Mitsubishi made a 5 speed that has 10% as many failures as Subaru's praised 6 speed.
Why did the almighty Evo only get a 6 for handling? : Simple, this car in reality is a SOLID 9. 5/10, gotta leave that 0. 5 for things like the Senna, Doug was on fairly straight roads on his drive and no mortal can use the capabilities of an Evo X on a public road. This is simply reviewer error. Take me at my word, Ive owned an Evo X for a quarter of my life.
-Is the 4B11t engine worse than the hailed 4G63t? : NO. The 4B11t is lighter weight, higher revving, quicker revving, has more power over the whole curve, has less turbo lag, runs cooler, is MUCH more reliable, has the same aftermarket support, and is known to be 1200hp capable. Oh and its 2% better on fuel economy and emissions while sounding better. The 4G63 is however better for drag race builds breaking the 1500hp mark due to its cast iron construction.
-Does it have a good AWD system? : YES. In fact, to this day the only AWD system that can argued as being slightly better on track is the R35 GTR awd system. That is amazing for a 14 year old design. The car can send power to any wheel to get you around a corner, and the cars safety systems are not even a little intrusive. It is a rarity that a front based car like this laughs in the face of understeer.
-Reason for blank switches: The Japanese version of the car had many more options, including intercooler water spray, TC, AWC, Headlight Control, Ect, that wasnt offered over seas.
-Reason for no back seat room: The Evo X actually has MORE rear seat room in all directions than a BMW 3 series and Audi A4 of the early 2010's, so this is explainable because Doug is 7 feet tall.
-Reason for lack of badging: Its an Evo X, it has nothing to prove. It will be recognized and remembered when it passes your Porsche on the track.

Daddy Doug and others may mock the AWC as a marketing ploy but ive tested Lancers with their locking 4x4 and AWC modes in a Winnipeg Winter and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get stuck in the snow I tried getting hung up and stuck in snowbanks and it was not happening. This is just as good if not better than Subaru (I've owned a 2019 Impreza with AWD and it was great in the winter without winter tires. Take it from a guy who knows winter driving in one of the harshest winter cities on earth, not Daddy D in sunny SoCal. You want this AWC.

No mention of aluminium roof panel, bonnet, wings, the alloys were also by Enkei Racing, suspension by Blistein, no mention of the differences in the 4B11T over the old venerable 4G63T.
The whole video just seemed to be you moaning that the Lancer Evolution X is based on a Lancer. Well duh!

That's not even the sought-after engine. Many people don't like the Evo 10 because they moved from the much beloved 4G63T to the 4B11T. Every model of the Evo was powered by some version of the 4G63 until the Evo 10. That's why many people say the Evo 10 doesn't even have the heart of an Evo

I would put the Ralliart closer to the Evo-end of the spectrum than the base model lancer; 237hp, 253 lb-ft of torque, AWD, dual-clutch transmission, AWC [still not sure what the hell that does], and mine came with a Mitsubishi Multi-communication System which is far nicer than the one that was in this Evo.

Malaysian manufacturing car company Proton (now owned by Geely) had one model rebadge called Inspira and some of the car owner modified it to look similar like Evo X. Here in Malaysia, when you can't afford to buy Mitsubishi Evo X, just converted body kit to Evo X.

I just don't get why they discontinued it. The WRX/sti still sells really well.
And with Hyundai having sonata N and the spied Elantra N (yes I know they're FWD). There's still a market for fast sedans, again the WRX is a prime example

Doug: i love the subtle design changes that mercedes does to high performance cars so only car people will know what they're seeing

And your wrong about something doug. The Mr sst was the car to buy! Keep in mind the Evo x had a twin clutch since 08 unlike corvette who just got one in 2020 lol. for the money the sst on the Mr is amazing!
