KARTBOY The 2018 Volkswagen Golf R is a great hot hatchback -- and it's better than its rivals. Today I'm reviewing a Golf R, and I'm going to show you why the VW Golf R is such a great car. Fabian R: Oh boy. So, in Europe people do use their Golfs to tow trailers - why would you make a separate radio just for the R? The adjust both mirrors simultaneously feature is for European parallel parking in tight spots where you want to see the parking lines on both sides while backing up. And lastly, the Golf R has start stop. with the transmission in Park, the engine usually shuts off but turns itself on again if you unbuckle so that you are aware that the cars ignition is in fact still on and dont forget to turn it off. Dude, there are smarter people than you. Dont act like clever things are actually dumb just because you dont get them. P. S. Have you switched between the driving modes? RACE MODE will do wonders for the engine, as will COMFORT for the ride comfort. or you use the Custom setting to combine the Sport engine/transmission setup with the comfort mode of the electronic dampers.

Erm not reallyAlmost bought one but it's a Golf, so basically the modern day Toyota Corolla. Boring In other words the world's most boring car But with 4x4 and a big turbo, which still don't make it less boring and normalThe interior and exterior is really not much different to the base model, there's nothing to set it apart. It's just boring and plain, it's lost it's hot hatch appeal to petrol heads in the UK, the Focus ST or even Vauxhall Astra VXR both have more street credNo Recaro seats, just boring normal Golf interior, I could go on for days, so instead I bought a BMW M235i, that's a proper German driver's car and much faster

I own a Golf R with DSG. its not slower than the Civic type R or the Subaru. it will out accelerate both of them. the focus is about 2 tenths of a second 0-60. I have a friend inwork with a limited Edition focus that i have driven. the focus is manual shite in traffic and rides very hard. the Golf is a much easier car to live with on a day to day basis. the focus extra 50hp does not feel that different to me. so if you want a one night stand with big thrills buy a Focus RS. if you want a long term lover the Golf is for you,

If you need to move a bunch of stuff, and you can either rent a whole box car or pickup or what have you, OR just rent a trailer from the local gas station, and hitch it to your nearly 300bhp car. You would probably just go with the low effort option and rent the trailer. Or maybe you borrow one from your workplace over the weekend for free, in which case the extra gas costs are much lower than the alternatives. YES, people will tow with a neary 300bhp AWD car. Even if they don't do so very often.

I wish you would review both the facelift mk1 and the mk2 VW Tiguan R-Lines. I picked up a 2014 about 3 months ago and would love to see your take on it. To me, it's basically a swollen Golf R that you buy when you have a family, need extra room to haul things around, but still want all the fun of a Golf R haha

Hi there Doug - I've been watching your reviews for a very long time - Your information and way that you review a car is something that more actual 'CAR Shows' should learn from. I love the boys from Grand Tour [Old Top Gear] but they just have loads of fun in cars. You really review cars very well - Great Job: )

Unless Shaquille O'Neal is riding in the back, there is no need for my passenger to move the seat. I don't need them sliding it forward and blocking my side view. I'd be interested in the car that has a lock-out that PREVENTS moving the seat; it would give extra points to the car's Tater Score.

The auto start/stop system keeps the engine running when you unbuckle, so you dont leave the car thinking you have turned it off. Also if you get out and poke around under the hood you dont run the risk of the engine suddenly starting up because you forgot to turn it off manually.

as a mk7 golf owner i have to say, the VW badge being a handle and a camera is super cool. One of the coolest things about the car. The Roadside assistance and firstaid kits which come with those golfs are really impressive too. the VW dual clutch transmission is amazing
