The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N is a new hot hatchback -- and it's a thrilling high performance car. Today I'm reviewing the Veloster N and I'm going to show you everything you need to know about the new 2019 Hyundai Veloster N
Date: 2019-10-25

Comments and reviews: 10

I just bought one of these, a 2020 Spec R. I wanted the N, but those are apparently unicorns around here. No one has them. I've been enjoying the heck out of it, and considering that I have had several surgeries on my left ankle, I appreciate the forgiving, light clutch. The welcome sound has changed. It plays whenever I get in and close the door as well, but not if I have the windows down. I'm happy with my purchase, and I enjoy taking it out, even as my daily driver. I have a 2019 Kia Optima S as well, and while that's a fine car, it's nowhere near as much fun. I only drive that when my ankle feels really sore. I've had a couple issues with the reverse ring getting stuck in the up position. It goes back down with a quick tap, but it's a little annoying.

Good review Doug. This is a good looking car, however, I don't like the seatbelt deploy system; just intergrate it into the B-pillar or car seat itself Hyundai. It will be interesting to see how this car compares to the 2020 GTI which is going back to German production with over 250hp, so I've read. Amazingly, the Focus hatchback is getting cancelled and this Veloster can probably out sell it in a SUV world.

I would just like to clarify something - I looked at a Veloster N today. It was used (only with like 800 miles, so I'm weirded out by that) and what Doug was saying about the color of the car being thrown into the interior, isn't true of all colors. The Veloster I looked at today was a red color, but the seatbelt and other misc. interior decorations were still blue. It was kind of jarring.

I just bought a 2019 Veloster Turbo and I'll tell you that unless you're a really young driver I think 201 hp is plenty. I will buy some old iron (vintage Chevrolets) if I wanna go faster. I've had mine up to 110mph and it was quick enough to get up to that speed. I have owned a 2016 Veloster and I have had no buyer's remorse either time.

That little chime when you turned off the car reminded me of my first car. A 2001 Hyundai Elantra GLS. I loved that little guy, named it goldbug because it looked funny. The Best thing I liked about it, was when I turned off the engine, if it was quiet enough, you could hear a slight whir of the engine powering down.

I thought car makers were all about keeping costs down to maximise profit margins, making two different bodies sounds expensive If a car maker is charging me 25 grand they had better make sure I get 4 doors Also one rear door just sounds so impractical it must be a chore for your back seat passengers.

I appreciate your honest review. But, you do know the i30 N, and the Veloster N, were Born and Raised on the Autobahn. Kia and Hyundai have their own paddock and research center. Very close to the one they acquired Albert Biermann from. Kia Stinger, Genesis g70, Hyundai Veloster N. only the beginning.

This was on my list but I'd have been bored of the veloster after a week. My list was brz/gt86/i30n/veloster/mx5. I bought the mx5, it just ticks every box for me. Goes like a bullet, looks good, has decent mpg, convertible, price, spec, it's a Mazda

You should be contention on dresses with that lisp not sports cars. Also when you say things like. If I was hiandai I would not have done. Comes off as foolishly arrogant. You would have not designed a car yourself. So why do you make judgements on the experts

the sound that car makes, with stock exhaust sound, in a car for under 30k, holy shit it's awesome, I am going to buy one of these, the switch light is what they put on the wrc cars, I'm sure overseas wrc fans buy fast hatchbacks a lot
