The 2019 Ford Ranger Is the Return of the Ranger to the USA

The 2019 Ford Ranger is the revival of the Ford Ranger name. The Ford Ranger is back in the United States, and today I'm reviewing the 2019 Ford Ranger to show you if the new Ranger is good enough to square off against close pickup truck rivals

How does the acceleration get a 2 out of 10? He had nothing but good things to say regarding the acceleration. I dont get his scoring system at all. He mentions the Ranger is almost the cost of the F150. Thats in error, the Ranger Lariat costs almost the same as a F150 XLT. The F150 Lariat is almost 15, 000 more with rebates. Mind you there is still a better chance you can negotiate more on the F150 vs the Ranger, there is still a cost benefit for going smaller, this fall and especially by next fall the difference will even be greater once the novelty ) of the new Ranger wears off. I think the bean counters at Ford thought they could ask the price Toyota is asking but forgot that Toyota could do so in the past because they were the leader of only 2 offerings in the market. In my area Tacomas really sell well but there are some smaller discounts starting to show up. Toyota is starting to notice the inevitable loss in market share when a new player or 2 enters the fold. The Rangers are sitting around unless they are the more entry level trucks. There are a lot more of them showing up and on the Lariat models I am seeing manufacturer/dealer rebates as much as 6, 000 already. Alberta, Canada. The market will settle down but the Ranger will not be number one in sales in the midsize market for North America, like it held for years and years up to 2011. I do understand in worldwide sales though, including North America, the Ranger is #1 in sales. Doug you are entertaining, but your scoring system is really unusual. I will have to watch more to see if I get used to it. I am not subbed yet, but you are better than some other reviewers. Thanks

I already know it's good without you even saying I am going to see if it is any good, the sales are through the roof, people love the new Ford Ranger and it is a welcome return of one of the most reliable trucks ever made. A buddy of mine's dad, rolled his odometer on an old '80s Ranger. Over 1 million km on it and it was still going. The only thing that stopped it, was a rotting body and frame, from our Canadian winters and salt. Aside from that, it would have kept going cause it was still on the original engine and transmission and they were fine. If I were going to buy a small truck, which I will in the future (when my current car finally bites the dust, I will seriously consider a Ranger as a top choice and I am NOT a Ford guy. I recognize good when I see it though and the Ranger is legendary for reliability. Your Doug score on this was nonsense, sorry to tell you, I usually agree, but felt you were unnecessarily harsh on this, it's a truck dude, c'mon You need to rethink that Dougscore crap, cause it is frequently wrong (and totally right though too, sometimes. I totally get the back seat criticism though, that's horrible. Take it from someone who heavily criticizes earlier Honda Civics for the same reason. Even their front seats were like an extremely angular brick and VERY uncomfortable on long rides for someone with back problems. Hell, even my kinda crappy 2000 Hyundai Accent nailed the seats, WAY better than Honda's of the same era.

I have a 2005 Ranger, 2. 3L, 5 speed, 34 MPG, 366, 892 miles. Replaced my water pump this winter, first time since new. Alternator now went out, first time since new. On my 3rd clutch since new. Other than that nothing been replaced besides typical upkeep for 14 years. It has some squeaks and creaks but still drives great. This new Ranger isnt a compact, and the mileage is horrible. Was so excited when I heard there was a new one coming out and I can retire my 2005 and get a new truck that would replace it, not going to happen with this thing. Sometimes we just need a truck to haul stuff in the bed and get descent mileage for daily driving, dont think anything like that on the market anymore, maybe never will be again.

Performance is excellent. Acceleration, woah, and we're going. But actually, the performance is fantastic. This feels faster than Tacoma, Colorado, any versions of them, this feels like the fastest compact midzise truck. It's really, really impressive. Great midranged power, great highway passing power which is shocking to me for a 4 cylinder. It is a great powertrain. It works fantastic. Acceleration in the Ranger does 0-60 in 6. 9 seconds which is shockingly quick for a base engine and for a four cylinder, it gets a 2 out of 10. 2/10. 1/5. 69/345. 420/2100.

I'm gonna go with the first reason as to why Ford said no to the Ranger Raptor. It seems like it wouldn't make sense for Ford to spend the money and time to bring it on this generation with how long this Ranger has been out elsewhere when the new Ranger can be developed with the Raptor model in mind. While I do like this Ranger, you can tell in its highly restrained styling inside and out it wasn't designed for the US market. I would bet the next Ranger will borrow alot of the styling from the more successful F150.

Why does an American car company release vehicles in Europe first. What is it about us citizens that have to wait for Europe to get the trucks for a lengthy time period? Ford now has the Ranger Raptor, but it isn't available in AMERICA But it's been in Europe at least a year already. If Ford insists on playing that way, maybe the should just move to Europe. I mean Chrysler is moving to China so why not. They must trust the European citizens more than Americans.

So I actually have a fully tricked out ranger 2019 and guys it's actually a really nice truck, yeah its pricey but literally every new truck on the market is pricey. It handles like a champ off road, gets pretty damn good mileage and is actually pretty fast. I've been seeing a lot of negative reviews and too be honest it doesnt deserve it. The trucks nice, anyways my 2 cents. Also with the tow kit it can haul 7500 ibs which is pretty damn good.

that seatbelt buckle feature is realy badly executed. my 2011 reanult scenic grand (7 seater) also has it for the rear seats and if you bucckle a belt it shows how many are buckled in the guage cluster screen. if you unbucle a rear seatbelt while driving above 25 mph or something a warning pops up on the screen, a great feature for knowing if your passangers are buckelled especialy for the 3rd row

Please make a truck/off road rating scale. Of course its not comparable to a Lambo on road performance. its like scoring a lambo low because it doesnt have good ground clearance off road. For the great power and acceleration you say it has, it clearly deserves better than a 2/10 in the acceleration category. Even so, still enjoy your quirky videos haha

3: 50 that's not door ajar sound, it's electronic on warning sound. my ford freestyle also gives out that sound when I leave the parking lights or headlights on even after the engine is off and open the driver door to get out. gentle reminder that u have left things on that can drain your car battery.
